"Jarred. Son, what is that on your neck?" Mr. Adam asked. Jarred and Jade's eyes both widened as Eric and I both tried to hold back laughs. We were having dinner and it was silent until Mr. Adam came across the huge hickey on Jarred's neck.
"Uh.. I.." Jarred couldn't find words and all the attention turned to Jade.
She turned red and threw her arms in the air. "Why the heck are you all staring at me like I did it?!"
"So it is a hickey!" Mr. Adam said as his eyes widened in shock.
"Dad, it's not a hickey. He just ran into something. It's obviously a bruise." Jade said but her dad didn't believe her one bit.
"Jade Elaine Rider!" Mr. Adam yelled. At that point Eric and I couldn't contain our laughter anymore and we both busted out laughing.
"I didn't do it!" Jade said.
"Then who the hell did? He didn't have it when he got here! And I know for a fact it wasn't from Eric or Lia. They're too obsessed with each other to even think about paying attention to anyone else."
My mouth dropped open and Eric's laughs came to a complete stop.
"It's just a hickey." Jade said sinking down in her seat.
"Hickey's lead to other things, Jade! Your mother and I have raised you better than this."
"You're so unfair. You always joke around with Eric about sex and him banging Lia but if I give one guy a hickey I'm the worst child ever. That's not fair!" Jade said.
"Do not raise you're voice at me young lady!"
"It was my fault." Jarred said trying to save the day, but it didn't work... At all. It just made Mr. Adam even madder.
"Adam. Calm down." Mrs. Kelly said in a strict voice.
"I will not calm the fuck down! My daughter's being an effing slut!"
"Adam!" Mrs. Kelly yelled at her husband. Jade's mouth dropped open and I instantly felt uncomfortable. I wasn't even hungry any more. I just wanted to get away from the cranky atmosphere.
"I can't believe you just said that to me! It's like you like Eric way more than you like me!"
"Stop bringing me into this!" Eric yelled.
"It's true! You're not even that great and you make the worse decisions ever but since you have better grades they like you more!" Jade yelled.
"Shut the hell up, Jade! You know nothing!" Eric said giving her the scariest glare I've ever seen in my life. What. Is. Going. On?
"It's true! I hardly do anything bad but you on the other hand are a complete mess! Why the hell are you the good child and not me? It's not right! I can't stand this family!" Jade screamed.
Eric began to glare harder and soon they were all yelling at each other. The tension was extremely high and I just needed to get out of there. Being my stupid self, I grabbed a fork and pretended to drop it. I went under the table as if to get it and crawled all the way to the other side... To the door... And out of the room. I can't believe that actually worked.
Once out of the door I stood up and began my journey to my room. I could still hear the extremely loud yelling and I also heard a loud shatter and someone yelling. "Eric!" I was sort of freaked out and I wanted to turn back around to see what happened but I couldn't. I didn't want to be in that. It wasn't even any of my business.
