Kaylin Dark
My eyes widened and I spit the coffee I was drinking back into the mug. Iris spun around with wide eyes. "Oh no. I'm movin too fast, aren't I?" Cisco asked. I shook my head.
"No! No, you're not moving too fast, Cisco. Yes."
"Yes?"
"Yes. I'll move in with you. I love you, Cisco. Of course I would," I told him with a huge grin. Why was I suddenly falling in love with the engineer that I wanted nothing to do with in the beginning? I was just using him, and now I'm...now I'm in love with him. Cisco was grinning and he got up and walked around the table to hug me before planting a kiss on my lips. I instantly kissed back.
"I honestly thought you were going to say no," he whispered. I chuckled.
"It's not like you were asking me to marry you. Then that would be too soon."
"But it's better for you, too. I'm close to CCU Campus and STAR Labs. It's a win-win because I get to see you're gorgeous face every morning," he told me. I couldn't help but blush.
"Awww," Iris cooed. I laughed and got up, checking my phone.
"Okay. So I have to tell Izzie what happened without her flipping out and getting mad. So I'll meet you at STAR Labs in a few hours?" He nodded. "Alright," I whispered. "Go kick Snart's ass," I said softly with a smirk. He nodded and ran out. I smiled and waved to him as he waved to me.
"Moving in with him? Wow. Nice job, Kaylin," Iris said. I nodded. "You really love him, don't you?"
"Yeah. I guess I really do."
"You're crazy."
"What?"
"You're crazy. It's been a little less than a year, Kaylin, and you want to move in with him? I thought Barry was you hubby," she told me. I scoffed.
"Izzie, he was my husband. Then I screwed up the timeline which changed my feelings for the two. Yes, Barry's hot. He always will be." Izabella snorted, making me roll my eyes. "But I love Cisco now. And I think moving in with him will be good. I'm still close to campus and I promise that I'll go to most of my classes." She raised an eyebrow.
"Most?"
"Some. I can't go to all of them. But I can go to most." I zipped up the suitcase and set it on the ground, grabbing the last duffel bag to throw some of my stuff in. "I'm only a phone call and a few miles away. Plus you can pop into STAR Labs anytime you want. I'll say that you're from my time and you were Barry's best friend in the future. How can they argue? The future hasn't happened for them yet." She frowned at me.
"I don't want to be alone, Kay." I chuckled again.
"You'll have all of the people on campus. You won't be alone, I can assure you that. I have to go meet them at STAR Labs. Bye, Izzie." I ran off of campus and to STAR Labs.
"Moving in with you?" someone yell-whispered. "Isn't it a little too soon, Cisco?" I recognized it as Dr. Wells' voice.
"Dr. Wells, she's the perfect girl. And not to be rude, but how does it affect you anyways?" Cisco asked, getting a little snappy. I decided to walk in, but they didn't see me.
"Affect me? She's my da-" I cleared my throat. "She's like my daughter," he corrected with a roll of his eyes. Cisco stared at him flatly.
"He cared for me when I was little for a few weeks," I lied smoothly, all while shooting Wells a glare. "I need to talk to you, Harrison," I hissed and walked out of the cortex. He wheeled out after and towards his Time Vault. "Get your feelings under control!" I snapped. He scowled and stood up.
"Kaylin, you barely know him. You're 20. Not 24. He's too old for you."
"You told me that I could date him if I wanted to," I deadpanned. He threw his hands up in the air.
"I was exaggerating! I don't want you to date him! Not even marry him! You can't be with him, Kaylin." I stomped my foot and walked closer to him, our faces inches apart.
"You may be my father in another timeline but I will never be your daughter. Do you understand that, Thawne? Never. All I asked for was a normal life and a normal relationship with Barry but you had to go and ruin that. You ruined my happiness!" By now the tears were flowing, and I could see hurt flash in his eyes. "Cisco is another chance. I had a mission and I might drop it just so I don't die and-" I cut myself off when I realized what I had just said. He frowned.
"Your mission involved you dying?!" he yelled. I nodded. "What was it?" I shook my head.
"Not telling. Now just leave me alone, Harrison, and let me be with Cisco. I'm moving in with him and you can't do anything to stop it." I stomped out of the Time Vault and instead walked out of S.T.A.R. Labs.
I walked into the apartment and grinned. "Me casa es su casa," Cisco said as he gestured to the apartment around me.
"This is going to take some getting used to. I can't believe I'm moving in with you!" I squealed, throwing my arms around his neck. Cisco hugged me back and gave me a quick peck on the lips.
"I can't either. I just can't believe I have a girlfriend," he said with a chuckle.
Barry fidgeted with his dinner as the waiter brought out our desert. "You alright?" I asked my boyfriend of 3 years. Barry nodded as the waiter winked at him. I raised an eyebrow.
"Dig in," he told me with a grin. I nodded and he turned the plate around. Something sparkly caught my eye. It was a ring. I looked up at Barry and saw he was grinning.
"Barry, is that-" He nodded. Grabbing the ring from the plate, he got down on one knee.
"Kaylin Thawne, will you make me the happiest man alive-"
"Fuck, yes!" I exclaimed. He chuckled and slid the ring on my finger. The loud clapping started around us as nearby people witnessed the proposal.
"I, uh, also got you another present since it is your birthday," he told me as he sat back down in his chair. I stared at him in confusion as he handed me a key. Then it hit me. "We're engaged. We might as well move in together," he said with a shrug.
I frowned as I recalled the memory. That was one of the most happiest days of my life. And now I'm moving in with his best friend. "Are you okay? You're crying," Cisco said. I quickly wiped the tears from my eyes and nodded.
"Yeah. Just overwhelmed, I guess. It's amazing. I like the gadgets and technology everywhere," I teased. Cisco laughed. That's what I like about him. He's not afraid to be himself. My phone rang and I answered it without glancing at the caller ID.
"Kaylin, it's Barry. We need to talk."
