Barry Allen
As I stared at the photos that were on the phone screen my stomach turned. Kaylin raced in the Cortex, Cisco trailing behind her. Her blue eyes were wide with fear. "What's wrong?" she asked, pushing a strand of red hair behind her ear. I held up my phone and she frowned. "How do you have those?" she asked, fear creeping into her voice this time. Cisco's eyes widened.
"Your roommate stopped by with this phone and handed it to me before walking out. I decided to go through it since she told me it was for me. And in it I found these pictures. You said that we were married in your past life," I told her.
"It's impossible. That phone was left in the alternate timeline with you. That was your phone. I have mine from then. It's the one I use. So how did Izabella get that phone?" she questioned. I shrugged. Cisco teared up at the picture.
"You were married to him?" he asked, his lower lip quivering. Kaylin nodded. "Do you still love him?" She stayed silent. "Kaylin, do you still love him?" he asked her. She shook her head.
"When I told you about my life, I screwed it up. I screwed with the timeline. I was warned. I ended up falling for you, and Barry's feeling for Iris grew stronger. There's a chance that...that Barry and Iris will end up together," she explained. My eyes widened. I'm gonna marry Iris? "I was sent here on a mission to kill someone, but I don't want to kill them because if I do then...," she trailed off.
"What will happen if you do?" I asked her. She took in a deep breath.
"If I kill that person then I die, too. But I want to be with Cisco. I want to marry you someday," she told us, directing her attention to Cisco on the last part. "I want to be with you and only you. And I know that it seems so screwed up and confusing right now but there are things that I can't tell you. Things that...that can kill you. Both of you. My main mission was to save Barry by killing The Reverse Flash," she said. Cisco's eyes widened and he stumbled back, balancing himself on the table.
"You know who he is?" he whispered. She nodded.
"But I can't say. It may screw things up even worse. I know people here. I know people that I knew my whole life back in the future. I'm from one timeline, but jumped to another where I met Barry and fell in love with him. There I was sent back to this time to save him. But screwing it up was never the plan. Because if I went through with it then it wouldn't matter because Barry would've never known me." As I processed the information one thing stuck with me that confused me.
"Why would you die if they were killed?" I asked out of nowhere. She slowly turned around to face me, just as Caitlin walked in the Cortex.
"Because The Reverse Flash is my father." We all heard something glass shatter and Cisco and Kaylin spun around to see Caitlin's face. Her eyes were wide and her jaw was dropped open. There was a gun on the table near the computer's that I didn't recognize and Caitlin picked it up, pointing it at Kaylin. Kaylin's eyes were wide. "Put the gun down," she said slowly.
"You're working with him, aren't you?" she asked. Kaylin shook her head. "Yes, you are! You're his daughter! You have to be!" Kaylin took a step forward, and there was a click. "I will shoot you if you take another step."
"I can't die, Caitlin. It would do you no good but make an enemy. You would make The Reverse Flash even more angry!" Kaylin shouted. Caitlin shook her head. "Give me my gun," Kaylin hissed.
"Your gun?" Cisco asked. Kaylin nodded, her hands held out as she slowly inched closer to Caitlin.
"Caitlin, he thinks I'm working him. I'm not. I'm working against him. Trying to figure out how to kill him," she told Caitlin.
"But you'll die if you kill him!" Cisco said. Kaylin nodded.
"And seeing Caitlin holding a gun in front of me makes me realize that he needs to be gone. Even if that means that Barry doesn't become The Flash. Even if it means that my children in the future will never exist," she said. Everyone but Caitlin saw Dr. Wells wheel in.
"Looks like no one can trust you then, Kaylin." Her eyes widened. When she realized that Caitlin was distracted she lunged for the gun, snatching it out of Caitlin's hands. We all breathed a sigh of relief before Cisco rushed over to Kaylin.
"You're okay?" he asked her. She nodded and he threw his arms around her. "I'm so sorry I doubted you," he whispered. She nodded again, and I could see her tighten her arms around him. I helped Caitlin up.
"How can we trust her, Barry?" Caitlin whispered. I shrugged.
"We just can. We also have an advantage. She knows everything about him. She can help us take him down," I told her.
