Chapter 17
I went to school and Scarlett was waiting for me at my locker. Her amber eyes met mine and she smiled.
"Megan! Have you heard the news?"
"What news?"
"Chloe and Dane are dating." She clapped her hands in excitement. I rolled my eyes and smiled. Chloe had to be so happy.
A girl with black hair and blonde streaks was walking towards us. She had brown eyes and she looked familiar.
"Aishah, what happened to your eye contacts?" Scarlett asked the all new Aishah.
"Calum lost it. I was angry but he said I looked better with my brown eyes so yeah."
"Why do you decide to dye your hair blonde?" I asked, trying to be in the conversation.
"Calum and I decided to have the same hairdos."
"Isn't that cutee." Scarleet said and pushed Aishah's shoulder playfully.
I laughed and went to class. Dane was there texting. He seems happy. I walked to him and he turned to me while grinning.
"Madam Lancaster, please tell me why am I so happy."
"I believe it because you find yourself a significant other." I said when I sat down.
"How do you know?"
"Scarlett."
Dane was still grinning and asked "Are you still bitter about your parents?"
"We're good. In fact, we're going for a picnic tonight."
"I am so happy for you. You finally destroy your wall."
"What wall?" I asked him and the teacher came. He grinned at me and focused to the teacher.
During lunch, Aishah was with Calum and his band mates. Dane and Chloe were dating at the school garden. Scarlett, Syaz and Judy had to stay in class for a project. I was alone. I wasn't hungry so I went to the library. I love it there, it's quite and peaceful. It was quite and peaceful until the football team and their cheerleaders had to barge in.
I tried to ignore them but they were so loud. They were yelling "WE ARE THE BEST! WE ARE THE BEST! GOOOOO EVERLY WOOD!!" The librarian didn't care. I walked to the exit after I got tired of them. I was so annoyed I mean, if you want to practice chatting do it at the gym not the freaking library.
As cliché as it sounds, I bumped into a guy while exiting the library. His brunette hair covered his entire forehead, which was adorable. He wore spectacles but his blue eyes were still noticeable.
"Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going." He said as he looked down.
"It's fine." I said as I fixed my flannel.
"Are you new here?" He asked while looking at me.
"I am."
"That explains. No one comes to the library during lunch."
"Is it because of them?" I said pointing to the loud football team.
"Yeah, I mean the school has a gym." He half yelled and the football team gave us death glares. I laughed and he seems surprised but he laughed eventually.
"What's your name?"
"Megan."
"Well ma'am, I hope to see you again."
"May I at least know the name of yours?"
He laughed. "Ben."
We said our goodbyes and left. I didn't realize but I was smiling until I got in class. Syaz asked me if I'm okay and I said I was just excited about the family picnic. School finally ended and I got home. I got ready for the picnic which I was so excited about.
