I woke up after I cried myself to sleep. I had an hour before school starts and that's good enough for me. After getting ready, I drove to school and headed to my locker. Scarlett and Judy were there with worried faces."Megan, have you seen Chlo? She didn't answer our calls or texts last night" Judy said as her eyes were getting watery. Aishah was walking towards us and asked about Chloe. I told them that I haven't seen her since last night. I tried calling her and she didn't pick up. I was getting worried and I thought that Dane had to do something with this. I spotted Dane from afar and pushed him to the wall.
"Where's Chloe?" I didn't know why I was so furious but I couldn't help it.
"How should I know?" He said with his voice trembling.
"You were with her last night"
"I dropped her off at her house and I went home okay. That's all."
I let go of his collar and sighed.
"Yeah right" I said and walked to class. I couldn't focus on any of my classes because I kept thinking of Chloe and what happened to her. I prayed and hoped that she's safe some where. During lunch, everyone was talking about Chloe. Scarlett said she was kidnapped, Aishah said maybe she ran away because she got friendzoned and Judy said maybe she got in an accident and had amnesia. I told then to stop joking around because someone missing is something serious.
After school I drove to Starbucks to apply my job. I got a morning shift every Saturdays and Sundays. After that, I went home. Dane was waiting at my doorstep. He was angry.
"I thought you trust me" he said with his arms crossed.
"Move." I said rudely at him. Doesn't he had a hint? Of course I didn't trust him.
He sighed. "Look, I didn't do anything to her okay. You have to trust me." I kept quiet and he continued "You'll have to trust someone one day, eventually" he walked away and got in his apartment. I rolled my eyes and walked into my apartment. Rachel called to tell me that she was having fun ar the new foster care and the wheelchair was fabulously wonderful. I was happy for my sister. After the call ended an unknown number popped up on my phone screen. I ignored it and took a shower.
The night was still young and normal teenagers would go on dates or having sleepovers with friends. But I was in my study room calling Chloe for the thousandth time. Scarlett texted her parents and the school. Aishah and Calum went to the police station to repost Chloe's disappearance. Judy did nothing except bailing her eyes out and worry about Chloe.
I kept calling Chloe and the unknown number kept popping up on my phone. I picked up sometimes but there were no answer. I ignored the number and continue my search. My new friends and I drove all over New York to find her. Typo, her favourite café, malls and parks. Her parents drove to their relatives' houses and ended up with disappointment. Rachel suggested to search at Chloe's ex boyfriends ' houses and we did, just in case. Most of them said they moved on which was very unnecessary. Calum had his band members helped too. He said he wanted to help because he didn't want his girlfriend to worry. It was sweet of him but also corny.
It was finally midnight and we had school tomorrow. We all got home to sleep. Scarlett told us to continue searching and the police will help us. We all agreed and tried to sleep. Before I shut my eyes, I kept thinking "where was Chloe?"
