Kirstie woke up wrapped in Avi's arms. Her head hurt from all the crying last night her eyes were stained with dry tears. Last night was the farthest Jeremy had ever went with Kirstie. He used to be such a gentleman and never pressured her to do anything. Not saying the Avi wasn't a gentleman, considering they have had sex before, but Jeremy never even implied he wanted to do anything with her. That made Kirstie feel safe to be with him, But he broke her heart. Jeremy never was a heavy drinker but when he did drink, it wasn't pretty. He either got angry, sexual, or very loud. He was always careful with Kirstie though. Kirstie sat up thinking of why he would suddenly do this to her. Maybe he thought she was someone else? No cause he acknowledged her as Kirstie. Maybe he needed comfort? No, he had that slut that he cheated with to do that. So what made him do it. Maybe he still loves her. But why? He was the one that cheated. Kirstie put her head in her hands and groaned. Avi woke up and sat up next to her.
"Hey babe, do you feel any better?"
"Not really, I just don't understand why he would do that to me."
"I don't know either but I do know I won't let it happen again."
Kirstie put her head on his shoulder and sighed. She was stressed and Avi could tell.
"I know what you need." Avi said while getting up.
Kirstie scooted to the edge of the bed and waited for Avi. But she heard him start the water in the shower. She wasn't expecting that and made her way over to the bathroom. The bath tub was filling with a million bubbles and he had lit a few candles. The lights were dimmed and Avi stood and waited for the water to fill. Kirstie walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around his torso.
"Thank you Avi.. are you going to join me?"
"Would you like me to?"
Avi turned around hugging her and waited for an answer.
"Please?"
Both undressed and Avi sat in the warm water with open arms waiting for Kirstie. She got in and sat in his lap resting her head back on his shoulder. Nothing sexual happen because Kirstie wasn't very comfortable with what happened last night, so they sat and enjoyed each other's company. Kirstie broke the silence.
"Avi, do you think I should talk to Jeremy... He seemed kind of... upset."
" I don't know Kirst, he was drunk last night."
"I know but you didn't hear the way he spoke to me. It sounded genuine."
"If you want to talk to him, I can't really stop you. But please promise me you'll be careful."
"I promise."
They soon got out and dried off. Kirstie decided that she would go over to Jeremy's that night to talk to him. Avi wasn't too fond of the idea, but he knew she needed to clear this up. He even suggested he go with her but Kirstie said that it would make Jeremy upset, and that she wouldn't get real answers out of him if Avi was there. So Avi stayed behind and Kirstie made her way over to Jeremy's. She was a little nervous and didn't know what to expect but she kept that part hidden. She walked up to the door and knocked gently. Kirstie heard Jeremy make his way through cans and empty bottles to get to the door. Once he opened the door her jaw dropped at the sight. His hair was a mess and didn't look as full. He was wearing an old T-shirt with a few stains on it. And he was only wearing boxers. His eyes were droopy and had dark circles around them and he looked a little pale.
"What do you want?" He didn't say this harshly but Kirstie was a little taken aback.
"Uuh.. I just came to talk to you.. About last night."
"Ok."
He let her in and she looked at her old apartment, it wasn't trashed but it was very messy and smelled like alcohol. She sat on the couch were he had plopped himself down in the same position.
"So um... do you remember anything about last night?"
"Yes, I remember all of it. I wasn't that drunk Kirstie."
"Then why didn't you just talk to me like a normal person? Jeremy you hurt me."
"I know and I'm sorry."
Kirstie wasn't expecting this to go the way it had. Jeremy was just like he was before they broke up and now she was just more confused.
"Jeremy, did you mean what you said, about still loving me?"
"I meant every word Kirst, I can't live without you."
"I'm sorry, but I... I've moved on."
She couldn't help but feel sorry for Jeremy. He wasn't drunk and he was giving genuinely honest answers. But like she said, she moved on and she had to keep reminding herself that. Jeremy looked at her in the eyes and she looked down.
"Kirstie... I'm sorry that I hurt you. Will you forgive me?"
"I don't know Jeremy. That's the furthest we've ever gone, and it.. wasn't pleasant..."
"Is there a way I can make it up to you?"
"I don't know, I'm with someone else, there's not much you can do. Our relationship is over."
Jeremy put his hand under her chin and lifted her head up to meet his gaze.
"I think I know something that might help."
