18. The proposal

Avi woke up feeling very excited. He couldn't wait to propose to Kirstie and spend the rest of his life with her. He convinced Kirstie to have a girls day with Esther so he could set everything up for the night. First he would take her on a walk on the beach. Second, go back to his apartment, which should be set up from Scott, Mitch and Kevin. Third have the dinner, and propose to her. Scott was over at Avi's discussing the plan.
"I need this to be perfect, Scott, I want her to say yes."
"I got your back Avi, I know just the way to set this up. How much time are you gonna give me?"
"Well the drive to the beach is 15 min, we'll walk for about 30 min, then a 15 min drive back, so about an hour."
"I think I can manage, but it'll be close."
"Awesome, thanks Scott."
Scott left to go out and buy the things he needed to decorate. Kevin was out buying the food he needed for the night. And Mitch went with Kirstie and Esther just to make sure they didn't run into either of the boys.
"Hey Kirstie, come look at this dress. I think it would look stunning on you."
Mitch decided that since tonight was special, he needed to find Kirstie something to wear. He found a dress that was dark blue, about knee length, jewel studs lining the sweet heart neckline, and a laced part that came off of the sweetheart, and went up to her neck like a chocker acting as a strap to hold up the dress. It's was beautiful on Kirstie and Mitch offered to buy it.
"Mitch I can't let you do that."
"Come on Kirst, my treat. Who knows, maybe you'll need it for something special."
Mitch turned and winked at her while he made his way with the dress to pay for it. He needed to find a way to get this to Avi so he could tell her to wear it, so he texted Scott.
M: Hey, what store are you at?
S: Party City, why?
M: I need to give something to you to give to Avi, I'll meet you over there.
S: Kk
"Uhh hey guys I'm gonna go look in party city for a little bit, I'll catch up."
"Alright, we'll be in Victoria's Secret."
"Alright."
Mitch made his way over to party city and found Scott there. He explained the whole dress thing and told Scott to tell Avi to tell Kirstie to wear the dress tonight. So Scott finished what he was doing and made his way back over to Avi's.
"What's up Avi. Mitch found this dress for Kirstie and said that you should tell her to wear it tonight. He said it looked amazing on her."
"That's great, thanks. Do you know how much longer they'll be?"
"I think they're on their way back now. I'll text Mitch."
S:Are you guys almost back?
M:Yeah, don't be at Avi's, she'll get suspicious.
S: Right, meet you at home.
M:Alright.
"They're almost here, go get ready lover boy. Wait I need a key for later."
"Sure, here. I'll leave with Kirstie at 6, start 10 min after just to make sure we're gone."
"Sounds like a plan. Good luck Avi."
"Thanks man."
Scott left and Avi went to go get changed. He wore kakis with a dark navy blue dress shirt and a black tie. He matched Kirstie's dress perfectly and waited for her to come back.
"Avi, I'm home! What are you all dressed up for?"
"I'm gonna treat you special tonight. Go put this on."
"Ok."
She went to change and came out with the dress on, a pair of tan flats and her hair straightened. She looked beautiful.
"Wow, you look stunning, I love you."
"I love you too. So where are we going?"
"It's a surprise. Let's go."
They left on time and Scott arrived soon after with Kev and Mitch. Kevin went straight to cooking and Mitch helped Scott. When they finished they had a few minutes to spare. The room was candle lit, had rope lights around the ceiling, rose petals on the floor, and a table set for two. Scott was proud and got ready to be a server.
"Kevin, is the food almost done?"
"Yeah it's finished, plated and everything."
"Sweet bro, let's go wait in the kitchen."
Avi and Kirstie came back 5 min after and they both stopped at the sight. Kirstie's mouth dropped and Avi silently thanked the guys for going all out. The setting was perfectly romantic and breathtaking. Avi took Kirstie's hand and led her to the table.
"I told you I was going to treat you special tonight."
"How did you get all this set up?"
As if on cue, Scott and Mitch walked out and stood by the table. Scott spoke.
"Good evening, we'll be your servers tonight. We will cater to your every need as you wish. Can I start you off with some wine?"
Kirstie giggled a little bit as Scott poured the wine. She was so happy about what Avi has done to plan all this out. Scott and Mitch walked out of the room and left them alone for a few minutes.
"Avi, have I told you how much I love you?"
"Yes everyday."
"Well I'll say it again, I love you so much Avi."
"I love you too, my love."
Scott walked out with the first dish and when they finished Mitch came out carrying the dessert. When he passed Avi he winked down at him. Avi took both of Kirstie's hands and looked her in the eyes.
"Kirst, I wanna tell you that you mean the world to me. I can't imagine life without you and I can't remember how I lived without being with you before. These past few years, I've fallen more and more in love with you everyday."
Avi stood up and brought Kirstie over to the middle of the room. He stood still holding her hands and continued.
"When you gave me the chance to be with you, I was the happiest man in the world. Helping you through your rough times had made me grow closer to you and want that for the rest of my life."
He got down on one knee and looked up at her pulling out the little box.
"Kirstin Taylor Maldonado, will you marry me?"
Kirstie was crying happy tears and nodded her head yes. Avi stood up and grabbed her waist pulling her closer to kiss her. It was a very passionate kiss filled with so much love. When they pulled away, Avi slid the ring on her finger and they hugged. Scott, Mitch, and Kevin came out and joined into a group hug. Their best friends were getting married.
