It was a long day for Kirstie at the studio. She got home and expected to be greeted by her boyfriend but was surprised when he wasn't there. Kirstie brushed it off and went to the kitchen to make herself something to eat. When she got to the fridge there was a note on it. "Kirstie, went out for a few hours, be back later. Jeremy." Why didn't he just call? Kirstie thought. Oh well. As she made her food she got a text.
Scott: Are you ok cupcake, you seemed a little distracted today?
Kirstie: Yeah I'm fine, just overthinking.
Scott: You wanna talk about it?
Kirstie: It's ok Scott I'm fine.
Scott: I'm coming over, don't refuse.
Kirstie really didn't want to talk about what she was thinking about, but she knew she couldn't keep if from her best friend forever. So she just finished her food and waited as Scott made his way over to her apartment.
Kirstie was watching tv when Scott walked in.
"Hey."
"Hey Kirst."
"Why did you come over?"
"I know you're not 'fine' when you say 'I'm fine', so what's bothering you?"
"It's really nothing, it's stupid actually."
"Kirstin I'm your best friend you can tell me anything, nothing is stupid when it's bothering my little sister."
"Promise me you won't tell anyone."
"I promise babe."
"Ok fine... Yesterday Jeremy and I were watching a movie and I asked him how his day was, he looked at me and just said fine. Usually he tells me everything he did that day and then I tell him about my day. But he seemed really distant."
"Wait... So he just blew you off?"
"Pretty much... Yeah, anyway, that night when we were going to bed I wanted to cuddle him, but he refused and turned the other way, usually we fall asleep cuddling but not last night."
"Did he say anything to you about it this morning?"
"No, he was gone before I got up, I haven't seen him all day, he's actually out right now, he left a note."
"What did it say?"
"It just said 'Kirstie, went out for a few hours, be back later.' He didn't even say where he was going, and he's still not back."
"That's a little strange, maybe you should talk to him about it tomorrow, I'm sure he just needs a little time to himself, I know you get that way sometimes haha."
Kirstie looked at him with little amusement in her eyes.
"Sorry... Well I should probably go, it's late and I'm getting tired, I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, see you tomorrow, thanks Scott."
"Anything for you, love you."
"Love you too, bye."
"Bye Kirst."
At this point it was 11:30 and Kirstie was a wreck. She was tired and now wondering how she was going to approach this situation with Jeremy. She decided that she would wait up for Jeremy and take a bubble bath. She hadn't had one of those in awhile and she needed to relax. She let the water run and got some candles out to scent the room and make it even more relaxing. Some music was playing and she got into the tub.
"Oh my gosh, this is the best thing in the world right now."
She didn't care how crazy she sounded but she needed this to forget about her situation for a little while.
