Personal Preference for @ImMrsIrwin

"You know people say not to blink your eyes when you have kids because they grow so quickly. They weren't lying. It seems like just yesterday I was bringing Olivia home from the hospital, her green eyes shining up at me, her cheeks rosy, and her hands so tiny.

Or her first steps, in her diaper in our living room she held onto the coffee table and moved her little legs across our fluffy carpet with out assistance.

Or it was her first day of kindergarten, she was dressed in a flower print dress with her blonde hair tied up into pigtails, a pink My Little Pony back pack slung over her shoulders, and a happy grin placed on her face. She was so excited to start while Victoria and I were dreading it knowing she was growing up to fast.

We were right. She was growing up much to fast.

When she was seven she wanted to learn how to ride her bike without training wheels. I cried when she did it without my help less than a month later because she was becoming so independent.

One day when Livvy was in around fourth grade, she came home crying. I was so upset that I wasn't even going to wait until she told me what was wrong I was just going to go up to the school and demand they fix it all. She told me that a boy was messing with her at school and her broke her favorite pen. I was going to go up to the school that instant, but my lovely wife managed to talk me out of it until  I was calm enough to not scream at someone. It turns out the next day he had bought her a new pen and apologized. She always liked that pen more.

Her eighth grade graduation rolled around too soon. She was growing up and becoming a young lady and it was terrifying because soon she wouldn't need me anymore. I cried that day to.

Prom rolled around. She looked so gorgeous dressed in her beautiful purple dress with a matching corsage that her boyfriend had boughten. I almost didn't want her to go because she was my princess and I didn't want to see her be anyone else's, but I let her go because I knew she wasnt mine anymore. She was her own. She was an independent young lady.

Graduation was the hardest for me because I knew after that day she would take off her cap and gown and leave for college. Leave me. She was valedictorian of her class, so she gave a speech that made me cry. My favorite part was when she looked all around and at all her classmates and said, "School is like a bicycle, grade school was the cart our parents pulled behind them, middle school was the trike were we had a little independence but still relied on that third wheel, highschool was like a bike with training wheels we were independent and strong but we had something to fall back on if we crumpled and fell. But now, now we are adults this is our time. Our time to take the training wheels off and be on our own. Remember just because you fall off your bike doesn't mean you give up. It means you get up and you dust yourself off and try again. Don't depend on the wheels to keep you moving, depend on the pedals."

And now I'm going to give that advice back to her and her new husband. If you ever hit a rough patch don't give up try to work through it. It's worth it I promise. Just look what I have, I have a beautiful wife that helps and takes care of me, I have the career of my dreams, and I have you Olivia. My beautiful, sweet, smart, princess that I'm now giving a speech for at her wedding. And now I have you Noel, a great step son, and a wonderful man to my daughter.

I wish you both the most happiness in the world."

As Ashton finished his speech just about everyone in the room had tears running down their face. Olivia shot up out of her chair and embraced her dad in a large hug while she sobbed into his jacket. "Oh daddy that was wonderful, I love you so much." She cried.

"I love you too princess." He said placing a kiss to her forehead.

After a moment, Olivia sat back down and Noel hugged his new father-in-law. "That was great, thank you so much."

"My pleasure. But don't hurt my daughter kid."

" I won't sir. I love her much too much for that." Noel said shaking his hand.

Ashton sat back down in his seat next to you. "That was beautiful Ash." You whispered.

"Not as beautiful as you." He replied and placed a soft kiss on your lips. "I love you."

"I love you too."
