Skipping stones

"ash noo !", serena yelled. "you cant die", she mumbled with tears forming in her eyes. "please don't go", she cried into ash's chest qs he payed there on the cold ground,motionless. Serena suddenly jumped out of her sleeping bag, gasping for air with tears formed at the top if her eyelids. "so was only a dream", she thought to herself as she exhaled a sigh of relief. She sqt there in bed wondering why she was even dreaming such a thing, untill she heard a faint voice which was very familiar to her. She got out for her sleeping bag and went over to the edge of her tent to unzip it and see who was outside. She unzipped her tent very slowly becauuse she dis not want to wake up bonnie who was sleeping with her in the same tent. She slowly crept outside after unzippijng her tent and she zipped it right back up because she didn't want any bugs to get in. She looked around and found no one there, so she decided to walk around since she couldn't sleep anyway. She walked for some time untill she finally reached a small pond. It was quite dark there but she sat over there anyway. She just sat there picking up small pebbles and tossing them across the pond. "boo!", someone yelled as they held her shoulders. Serena jumped up in fright and turned around to see who it was. She polled back and saw a boy with raven hair and a big grin on his face. "very funny ash", serena said sarcastically. "yes it was quite funny", ash replied grinning. Serena just smirked at him and turned back towards the pond and skipped another stone. "so why're you up now anyway ?", ash asked serena as he sat down beside and skipped a stone as well. "well i kinda had a bad dream and when i got up i thought i heard someone outside. I came out and found that nobody was there so i decided to take a walk", serena replied. "oh sorry that was me", ash replied, scracting the back of his head. "what do you mean it was you ?", serena replied with a confused expression on her face. "i mean that it was me that was making noise outside your tent. I was talking to pikachu", ash explained, petting the mouse Pokemon on his shoulder. "you know that pikachu cant talk right", serena smirked. "no offense pikachu", she added as she pet it on ash's shoulder. "yeah well sometimes i just need to talk to someone you know.... And pikachu is always right there with me y'know", ash said placing pikachu down on the ground beside him and petting his tail. "well im here now", serena said looking over at Ash. "yeah i guess you are", ash replied grinning lookig right into serenas eyes. Serena started to blush when ash was looking right at her so she turned around and and asked, "so what's were you talking about..... With Pikachu". "well you know ..... About the league and stuff. Im just really nervous since we're almost there at lumiose city so yeah that's pretty much it", ash replied looking away as well, but in the same direction that serena was looking. There was an awkward silence that lingered for some time untill ash started to talk again well. "well we were also talking about what we would do after the league you know", ash replied, stressing on the 'we'. "an-and w-what have you decided", serena replied softly, while she clenched her teeth. "i honestly don't know", ash replied in a serious tone. "i really want to stay here but........ I don't really know im just so confused", ash replied frustrated. "well you could always stay here", serena replied in a really friendly and comforting manner, giggling in between words. "yeah i guess that i could stay here with you", ash replied, giggling between words as well. "with me ?", serena asked confused, as she blushed. "i-i-i mean with yo-you guys, yeah you guys", ash replied really nervously, swating his hand back and forth. "oh okay....... Well just for the record, i wouldn't mind you staying with me and my mom". Serena said, blushing and looking of into the distance. Ash smiled to this, "i guess i wouldn't mind as well", he replied. Again there was a silence but this time it lasted longer than the last, it lasted for about 20 minutes untill, ash again started talking. "so what were you dreaming about anyway", ash asked serena. "well ..... Nthng much really, its not that important", serena replied, blushing because she knew that she couldn't tell ash that she was dreaming about him. "oh c'mon ...... Who am i gonna tell", ash replied. "it'll be between just the two of us", ash added. "well to be honest", serena started of as she slowly turned her head towards ash. "yeah go on", ash said, sounding very interested. "do i ahve to tell you", serena asked in a little annoyed tone. "yes, yes you do", ash replied scratching his cheek. "oh alright........... Well i was kinda dreaming about you",serena replied looking down at the ground with her head still towards ash. "about me...........", ash asked curiously. Serena just nidded to this. "well i bet that i was a great trainer in your dream. The strongest of the strong, the bravest of the brave. No one could ever defeat me then", ash boasted. "well actually you were dying in my dream", serena replied blankly, interrupting ash's boasting session. "ouch", ash replied. "well you were kinda the best trqainer around in my dream, you were really strong and brave too. The reason why you were dying was because you threw yourself infront of an attack of a Pokemon that was comming to hit me", serena replied slowly lifting her head up so she could face ash. "sounds like something i would do", ash replied, boasting again. "you would really do that for me ?", serena asked ash looking at him, directly in the eye now. "of course serena....... I would do anything for you", ash replied in a much more serious manner. There was silence there once more, both of them were just looking into each others eyes, untill serena turned her head away. Ash turned away as well. "so what will you most probably do after the league", serena asked ash, just to break the silence between them. "well as i said i don't really know........... But ill most probably head back to kanto and see all my Pokemon and family. Ill also probably go meet professor oak and stuff", ash blanky replied. serena clenched her teeth and looked down into the ground, with tears forming at the top of her eyelids, at the fact that the one she had always loved would probably be leaving her in a few days. She tried to contol her tears but she just couldn't help it, she started sobbing quietly. As soon as serena started to sob, even though she tried no to, ash immediately noticed and lifted her head up by her chin. Once ash could finally see serenas face, he asked her why she was crying. Serena didn't respond, instead she swiftly pulled her head back from ash's hand and faced towards the ground again. Ash moved closer to her and asked her the same question again. She still didn't respond and continued to cry. Ash then put his arm around his shoulder, he didn't know why he did it but he just did. "what are you doing", serena asked him, still sobbing. "well it worked once before so i thought that it might work again", ash replied grinning. "well i kinda has", serena said slowing down her sobbing. "i really don't know how i feel right now ash........ Its just so frustrating", she told him as she slowly kept her head on his shoulder. "well its okay now.... Just stop crying k", Ash told serena as he slowly moved even closer and pulled serena closer to him. "okay", serena quietly whispered. Ash acknowledged what she said and slowly wiped off the tears that were there on serenas face with the hand that wasn't wrapped around her shoulder. Again there awas silence, but this time it wasn't that awkward, or maybe this time it was really awkward. Anyway they just sat there in that same position for a while until serena just said something, just to keep up a conversation. "so tell me about your adventures in kanto", she asked him. Ash explained about all his adventures there, all his rivals, friends and gym leaders. He even told her about all his Pokemon. Region after region, ash kept telling serena about all his adventures, untill it was almost 9:00 in the morning. "well i guess we better get going back now, clemont is probably making breakfast and he could use some help", serena suggested after she heard ash's stomach grumbling. "yeah i guess that's a good idea", ash replied grinning. He slowly got up and after he did, he stretched his arm out for serena to get up. Serena gladly took his hand and eventually got up. They both headed back to the campsite where bonnie and clemont were probably worried about them. This was truly another sleepless night.
