alison's pov

"what do you have to tell us?" they asked.

i sat down, not knowing what to say.

"baby..," dad says.

i look up, with glossy eyes.

"is everything okay?" he asked.

"i- have to...tell you something."

mom looked at dad, worriedly.

"tell us," she says.

"i- i." i couldn't say anything. i already knew what to say, i just couldn't. it seemed like everything, that I wanted and planned to say was washed away. forgotten. i tried hard to recover the thoughts that I had as short as a minute ago. but, they weren't coming back to me.

"honey, you can tell us."

i nod and let a tear slowly slide down my cheek. i deeply regret not accepting mona's offer.

even though, my body wasn't moving, my body was still tingling all over the place inside of me. i looked down and barely noticed, that my foot was moving rapidly. i looked at it, telling it to stop but it wouldn't.

i laid back on the couch and tried to relax. i wasn't so scared of their reaction, but more of what they'll think of me. i don't know, if they'll accept me. and if they do, i really don't want them to think of me some other way, like every time they see a girl pass by, they'll think i'm into her or something. i think that's what i'm most afraid of.

"do you remember when i was little, you said that you'd understand anything i told you?"

"of course we do, sweetie." dad says with his hand over mine.

"well," i say, taking a deep breath. "i'm asking you to understand this. can you promise me that?"

"we promise."

"i think that i- uh. you know," i say, barely audible, as a tear escapes my eye.

"um i guess that, you know," i whisper. "that i like boys and...girls."

after, i said that, i finally felt like i could breathe again. i forgot about everything and was enjoying the precious moment that had been given to me.

but, i guess i didn't pay much attention to my parents, because my dad was full of fury.

"allison Lauren dilaurentis you get out of this house, now!"

my mom gets up and holds his arm. "kenneth, stop it!"

he pushes her away.

"you heard me alison. get out!"

"dad, please!" I plead. "please understand. you promised!"

he furrows his eyebrows.
my eyes start to water, but his face softens.  he falls back down on the couch and rubs his temples.

"alison, go to your room. your father and i need to discuss this," my mom says.

i run up there, uncertain of what they're saying.
the first thing i do, is call emily.

"ali?"

"em!"

"yeah, how did it go?"

"i- i don't know. they sent me upstairs, and now they're talking about it. my dad went crazy, but then he calmed down."

"what do you think they're saying?"

"i don't know. my mom seemed pretty fine with it. but, like i said my dad wasn't...as fine."

"do you want me to go over there?"

"maybe, later. maybe after, you know they talk it out."

"okay. just call me after, they tell you."

"okay, bye. love you."

"bye."

i hang up the phone.

"alison!" i hear my dad say.

i race downstairs.

"alison," he says. i walk closer to him. he has tears in his eyes, but he smiles. dad opens his arms and i do the same and hug him tightly.

my mom smiles. i pull away. "thank you, guys." i say, wiping my tears.

"i'm sorry, i reacted that way." dad says.

"it's okay," i simply say and go for another hug.
