* 1 week later *

Alison's POV

'' You know I can't deal with this, with every single text, I get every single day. This stuff doesn't even make sense!" I yelled, throwing her phone on the couch, while running my hands through her hair.

Emily sighed, not knowing what to do. "Ali, let's just go to school, we'll deal with this when we get home. "

I put on a confused face.

"Come on," she said, picking my backpack up for me. I took a deep breath and grabbed it from her hand.

_________

I buckled my seat belt, as Emily started the car.

Looking at her, I felt a need to apologize. This whole week, I've been putting her through hell, complaining about A's texts. She hasn't received any texts herself, but, she's been staying up every night of this week, and she hadn't slept a wink. Her eyes had bags under them, and were only half open. A small vein was popping out her temple and she had tiny tangles in her hair.

I shift closer to her and lightly place my hand on hers. Her tired, worn out face lightened up a little and a little smile appeared on her. She looked up at me.

"I'm sorry," I blurt. "For putting, so much stress on you."

"Ali, it's okay. You shouldn't feel guilty, you've been through a lot recently. But, we'll get through it together," she said, her eyes staring directly at mine.

...................................................................

"This lunch tastes like shit," Hanna said, dropping the fork on the tray.

"Yeah, I know.'' I say.

"Sooo, have you received any texts from A yet?" Spencer says.

"No, not yet. But, it's kinda scary, you know, waiting for another one. "

"Yeah," I say.

end oғ тнe day

Emily and I were talking while she was driving me home. Everything was good, until I felt a buzz in my pocket. Realizing it was my phone, a rush of fear poured over me. I slowly grabbed it.

One new text message.
From : Unknown Number

Déjà Vu flowed through me, as I already recognize the screen that's in front of me.

I clicked 'open message'.

Tonight's the night I kill you
-A

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, as my face turned super red.

Emily looks my way, and her smile disappears, breaking my heart.

"You okay? " I hear Emily asks.

"Uh.. "

"That wasn't a another text from A, was it? " she asks concerned.

I look at her and she grabs my phone.

She reads and gasps.

"Fuck," she mumbles. "What are we gonna do?"

"I don't, Em. That's scary, do you really think he's gonna kill me? When is he gonna do it? Do we hide?"

Emily looked around and stopped the car. "We could.. "

"What? "

"We could run away. "
