Emily's POV

I awaited Hanna's answer thought the other line, impatiently.

I could only hear her breathing and I could feel her stress.

"Well??" I ask, a little rudely.

Hanna makes a mumbling sound, indicating that she didn't know.

I sigh.

"Oh my God, Hanna. You literally told me you had everything in control, but of course you never do! "

"I'm sorry!"

"That's not helping!"

"Okay, okay. Maybe, I can just tell them.. that you guys left for a geography project??" she suggested.

"Ugh! Just do that, I gotta go,bye."

"Bye, Em. I love you, be careful. " she says.

"Okay, thanks. Love you too, " I mumble and hang up.

Once I input my phone away, I look up. Alison is bring her lip, nervously.

"So.. What'd she say? " she finally asks.

"She said, that she had it under control. A-and that there was nothing to sorry about."

She squints her eyes a little suspiciously and shakes it off.

"Okay," she simply says and looks forward.

I go back and focus my eyes on the road.

Alison turned up the radio and started to sing a long to the song.

I chuckled and kept on driving to nowhere.

After a couple of hours driving out of Pennsylvania, I turned over to Ali, and asked "So, do you wanna book a room at a hotel or something? "

"Sure," Alison said.

I started my way to the hotel .

"Wake up, baby. Come on, we're here," I say, shaking Ali once again.

"Umph, ugh," Ali groans as she starts to stir awake

"Come on, lets go."

After a couple of minutes, we are out of the car and at the back of it, taking out our suitcases.

"Oh my God, Ali. How many stuff did you pack?" I frustratedly say as I take out her fourth suitcase.

"I didn't know how long we are gonna be gone, might as well prepare, she shrugs as I roll my eyes.

Once I unloaded the last suitcase, I looked at the hotel. It was shabby.

It was small, made out of stone, nails were sticking out of its wooden door. Not to mention it was in the middle of nowhere.

"Wow," Ali breathes out.

"Yeah, " I respond. "Let's go in."

We both enter, very cautiously opening the door.

When we step in, an odor of cigarette smoke fills our noses.

I roll my eyes, knowing that it's going to stink up the clothes that I'm wearing.

A part of the lobby was plain dark, as the lights only partially lit up the lobby.

We walked up to the counter, where an old, chunky lady that had bleached looking hair stood at.

She smelled heavily of cheap beer and had a "Make America Great Again" T-shirt on. I scrunched my nose looking at it.

"Um, can we get a room?" Ali speaks up.

She looks up at the both of us, and holds her arm out.

"Cash first," she rudely says, as I notice her southern accent.

"H-how much?" I stammered.

"$20 a night."

"Wow*," I mutter under my breath, surprised at how cheap it was.

"What was that?" she asks rudely, again.

"Nothing," I shrug, handing her the 20 dollar bill.

She snatches it and hands us a rusty key that has the number 26 printed on it.

"Here's your room key, I'm sure you can find it." she says.

Alison takes it as I start to pick up the suitcases.

I look around for an elevator, but all I found was a staircase.

"Uh, do you have an elevator?" I ask the lady who was now solving a crossword puzzle.

"Does it look like we have an elevator?" she sarcastically asks, then she resumes to her stupid crossword puzzle.

I huff and look at Ali, who just shrugs and starts to walk up the long flight of stairs as I slowly pull our suitcases uo there.
