Nani POV

"Give me all the details" Haya squealed through the phone.

Me and Haya promised each other we would talk on the phone at least 3 times a week to catch up on what's been going on in each other's lives.

From her end, it sounds like nothing much has changed in New York. Still the same gang violence and partying every weekend.

"It was fun, I got drunk as hell though"

"Oh shit!" Haya yelled, and I could hear her snapping her fingers.

"Haya can you not yell, this hangover hasn't left yet" I whined, folding some clothes on my bed.

"So how is a beach party? Did yall go like skinny dipping or some shit?" She asked and I laughed and rolled my eyes.

In New York, there aren't any beaches or open areas like here in Houston.

"No? We played truth or dare though" I sighed.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

I decided not to tell her about Jacob just yet. Especially after what happened last night at the bonfire.

When that girl accused Aya of fucking Jacob I literally wanted to throw up. He claims the girl was just kidding and that it never happened. Aya was smart and didn't say a damn thing to me about it. I just sat quiet for the rest of the game, refusing to do anything and taking shot after shot.

Jacob has been blowing up my phone because I'm sure he knows how pissed I am, even though I told him time after time that I didn't care. I agreed to meet him later today at Starbucks so he could "explain". I really didn't want to hear anything. We were doing just fine before all that mess.

"Well, I may be coming up there soon for Christmas break" I smiled and jumped up and down.

"Oh snap! Haya YESS! I miss you so much" I whined.

"I know, I miss you too. So I guess you have your little group of friends now huh?"

"Yeah, something like that."

"Name them"

"Cali, Briana, Jacob, Aiden, and Aya"

"Aya? That's too close to my name. You better not be trying to replace me bitch" she said, getting serious.

"Ofcourse not bae" I said, laughing.

"Good, well I gotta go. My mama keep yelling my name."

"Tell Ms. Yolonda I said hey!" I said, and with that we both hung up.

I decided to take a shower and a quick nap before meeting Jacob at Starbucks.

Jacob POV

I checked the time on my phone, wondering where the hell Nani was. She finally walked in and looked around.

She was wear yoga pants and a pink shirt with matching free runs, and her hair was  in a big curly bun.

She looked good as shit.

"Hey Nani" I said, calling her over.

She forced a smile and came over to the table, sitting down.

We both ordered our drinks and sat in silence.

"Nani can I just explain-"

"It's fine jacob" she put a hand up. "I'm choosing to believe you. And even if it did happen, it was before me, so I can't be mad about it. Right?"

"Right." I nodded, sipping my caramel frap.

"But, I'm assuming you guys had a thing?"

"Something like that, we use to chill a lot and I realized I ain't really like her like that, but she became obsessed with me."

"If she's so obsessed with you, why do you still hang out with her"

"We all have the same friends, I just choose to be cordial with her"

"I guess."

I reached across and rubbed her arm.

"I'm not gonna hurt you Nani, I promise." I held her hand.

She sighed and leaned over to peck my cheek. "I trust you, Jacob. Just never give me a reason not to"

I nodded and we sat and talked about a bunch of other random shit when I got a text from Aiden.

Aiden(4:30pm): yo everything good?

Me(4:31 pm): hell yeah
