"Im back and im better."

Nani POV

I grabbed my math book, slowly walking to first period. I was high as hell right now and did want to be here at all. But i needed to be exempt from my exams, so I couldn't have too many absences.

I haven't seen or heard from Jacob since the meadow. I guess he's gotten the point that im done with his ass.

I honestly wouldn't be as mad if he would've told me before hand. I put myself in his position and that's a hard predicament to be in. He fell for me while his girlfriend was away, that's understandable. But to basically deny knowing me at all for her? That hurt me to the core.

I was always scared at how fast I fell for him. It was scary. Everything about us clicked. My bad attitude matched so perfect with his smart mouth. But what scares me the most is how much I miss his no good ass.

Unlike what I was hoping, his ass was sitting in class with a hood on his head, and his head down.

I came in right before the bell rang, sitting in my usual spot.

A few minutes later, our teacher walked in. "Hello class, sorry I had something to take care of." She looked my way, smiling. "Nani....glad to see you this week. Are you okay?"

"Yes." I said lowly, pulling my work out.

Asia and and her friends walked in, damnear 10 minutes late. After making up some dumb ass lie, they came and sat next to me, which wasn't usual.
I really didn't want any problem with this girl. I just pray to God that she doesn't try me. Because this time I won't hold back from killing her.

"Alright, today will be a free day while I catch up on putting grades in." She said, walking over to her desk. "Nani, come get all of your missing work."

"I printed everything I missed from your syllabus online. I did everything I missed already." I said quietly.

Her eyes widened. "Very good. You can place it on my desk." She smiled.

I pulled the work out, standing up to give it her. I could feel Jacob's eyes on me, but he quickly looked away.

This was gonna be harder than I thought.

After returning to my seat. I felt Asia staring at me. I haven't spoken to her or her pet dogs since I beat their asses a few months ago. I was fine not talking to her, but from the way she was looking at me, she had other plans.

"Nani." She spoke.

I turned and looked at her, frowning. I looked around before returning my attention to her.

"Me?"

"Yes" she laughed.

"What?"

"Why aren't you and Jacob caked up? What's the problem?" She smirked.

"Mind your business Asia. I'd really hate to fuck your face up....again."

At this point, the whole classroom was paying attention to us, while our teacher was typing away at her computer, not paying attention.

"Well I heard Melissa came back and beat her ass. That's why she didn't show up last week." One of her sidekicks said.

I laughed, putting my earphones back in.

"I really don't have time for you."

Before I could select the song I wanted to listen to, someone snatched my earphones out.

"Yo what the fuck!" I yelled, causing jacob to lift his head.

"I wasn't done talking!" China yelled.

"Well im done listening! Now back the fuck up before I fuck your face up again!" I yelled back.

"Nani! What's the problem?" Our teacher said, standing up and walking over.

"I need to be excused before I kill somebody." I spoke lowly, grabbing my backpack.

I fought the tears coming when I felt jacob staring at me again.

"Can I go please?" I asked her again.

"Yes." She placed her hand on my shoulder.

"Thank you." I rushed out, hearing Jacob yell my name.

"Nani!" He said again.

I ignored him, making my way to the bathroom, only for him to enter too.

"Jacob you can't be in here." I sighed, wiping my eyes.

He locked the door, turning to face me.

"I don't care. Baby..." He reached over to touch my cheek. "are you okay?"

I dodged his touch, stepping away from him.

"Don't call me that." I whispered.

"Im sorry, I can't help it."

We both stood in silence.

"What did they say to you?"

"Nothing important." I shrugged.

Standing here was becoming more and more awkward. It was time to get out of here.

"Jacob, I have to go." I said, walking towards the door.

"I love you." He whispered, grabbing my hand.

"Enough to lie to me? To disclaim me?" I laughed. "Yeah, I love you too." I said before leaving.

I headed towards the parking lot.

Never in my life have I missed school this much. Attendance was important to me, but lately I've felt like being a rebel.

I got in my car, slamming it and pulling out a pre rolled blunt from the glove department.

I lit the blunt, pulling out my phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey"

"Nani Cataleya Joseph, what the hell is your problem?! We haven't talked in 3 weeks!"

I sighed, inhaling and exhaling the smoke before pulling off from the parking lot.

"I know Haya, I've been so caught up int the Houston life, which really ain't shit." I huffed.

"Oh lord, what the hell happened Nani?"

I caught her up with everything about me and Jacob, from the meadow to what caused me to leave school.

"Damn son, why you ain't tell me none of this shit was goin down?"

I laughed a little. Hearing her accent always made me miss New York.

"I ain't wanna bother you with none of that. I've just been so mad these past couple of days. I needed some time alone." I said slowly. The weed was finally hitting me.

"Nani don't tell me you're smoking again?"

"I am. So?"

"So? You know where that shit got you the last time. Stop playing games Ni."

"Look, it was nice talking to you, I gotta go." I said, hanging up.

I don't know where the hell I was going but I needed to get away.
