I can't help but smile at Riley. Di ko alam kung maiinis ako sa ikli ng palda niya or magyayabang ako na ako kasama niya.
As we enter na restaurant, I saw men looking at her legs. Kaya inakbayan ko siya. But then I saw the irritated look at her face. Sana naiinis din siya kasi madaming nakatingin sa legs niya.
Until she told me that women were looking at me too. Eh paki ko naman sakanila. Hahahaha. Kaya hinawakan ko kamay niya. I wanted her to feel that I was contented with her beside me.
When we ordered food, she was giving sharp looks at the waitress. I made a mental note that she hates it when people look at me. Hahahaha
I asked what she wanted to eat, and she started stating what she wanted to order. Ang dami niyang order! Which made me smile.
One thing I really like about her is that she eats a lot. I like my woman to be fond of food because I love to cook. And I bet we won't have a problem with that.
I asked her why she doesn't have a boyfriend. Sabi niya may inaantay siya. Sino kaya yun?
"Once that man knows about how you feel, he'll feel proud that a certain Riley Summer is waiting for him" i told her.
"!@#$/&**(" she whispered. I swear wala akong naintindihan.
"What?" I asked her again.
"Ahm. What would feel if suddenly you find out that a girl was inlove with you for a really long time na? Would you avoid her?" She asked me.
I suddenly ran out of words. I didn't know what to answer. Cause honestly, I wouldn't know what to do. And I'm not sure if matutuwa pa ako. Kasi nga diba, parang di na ako marunong magmahal after ni Nikkita.
"Well. I don't know, what would you do?" I asked her.
"Hmm. I'd say sorry. Just like what happened to Matt and I. But were friends now" She answered.
"So? Nanligaw siya sayo dati?" I asked her
Pero bago siya makasagot dumating na order namin. Pagkalapag nung waiter sa food, nag thank you si Riley and smiled. Which made me smile too. At least she's kind enough to thank our server.
She prayed before eating. Then she got her knife and fork.
"Matt was introduced to me by Suzzie when were in second year collge. It was around summer when he asked me kung pwede siya manligaw. I said no. Since then, we became best friends." She talked. Answering my question before the waiter arrived.
Di na kami masyadong nag usap habang kumakain. Mukang seryoso sa pagkain si Riley. Hahahhaa.
After eating dumaan kami sa starbucks na malapit sa office nila. I just watched her. I don't drink coffee too much. Mas gusto ko mga milkshakes. Gay nanaman ba? Haha. She just waved hi to the baristas. Wala eh. Mas masarap ang mga shakes.
Teka nga. Umorder ba 'to? Pero pag lapit niya sakin may dala siyang dalawang venti cup.
"Here. Strawberry frappe yan. Sorry, di nako nakareklamo. When I said "2 please" yan agad binigay. Sanay na sila sakin to the point na I don't need to tell them what frappe I want. Masarap naman yan" she told me as she hands me the frappe.
Natawa ako sakanya....
"Its fine. Buti nga hindi coffee. I'm not a coffee person eh" I told her.
"Lets go na?" She asked. I immediately grabbed her hand and intertwined it with mine.
She did not complain! Yes! Akala ko mag rereklamo eh. I think she also likes holding my hand.
We arrived at her building,I got off the car and opened the door for her.
"Thanks for the lunch Erik" She told me.
"You're welcome. Tomorrow again?" I tried my luck.
"Yeah. Sure. Text me" she said.
I bent dwn to give her a good bye kiss. Sa cheeks lang. She tapped my shoulders and said good bye.
I watched her get inside the building before I got back in my car. When i came back to the office, Sean Andrew and Harold is in my office.
"What the hell?!" I shouted.
"Hi bro. Missed us?" Andrew went to me for a man hug.
"Tinatawagan ka namin kanina kaso mukang busy ka. Akala namin andito ka sa office mo. Yun naman pala nasa ibang office ka" Sean said.
"What do you need guys???" I asked them
"Later. 8pm. Sa Valk ulit. Dalin mo kung sino man yang hinatid mo kanina." Harold said
"I'll try. Okay?" I said. And they went out of my office.
Fred entered and dictated my afternoon work. After that he went out and I started reading and signing papers.
At around 3pm I called Riley....
Erik!
"Yeah, hi Riley. Ughmmm. ... I ... ah.. I was wondering if you could accompany me later?"
Where too? She asked
"Sean and my friends are having a chill drink tonight. I was thinking if I could tag you along" I said
Well... if its okay with them. Then yeah. I could go with you.
"Sure. So pick you up at 8?"
Yeah. Sure.
And she ended the call.
I smiled and continue work. At 5pm I left the office. Maliligo muna ako bago dumaan sa unit ni Riley.
I went home and cooked a simple pasta dish. I'll bring it to her condo. So that we could eat before leaving. For sure, sunog baga at sunog atay nanaman kami mamaya. Kaya mabuti ng busog.
By 7:30 I was done with everything so I decided to go to her place already. When I arrived I asked the receptionist her room number and floor. Sympre tinawag muna nila kay Riley yun.
28th floor. Hmmm. Okay. When I reached her unit I pressed the door bell.
"Your early. Mag aayos palang sana ako" she said as she open the door.
"What are you holding?" She asked me.
"Ah. Carbonara. I thought of eating first before leaving. Is that fine?" I asked.
"Yeah. Sure. I'll prepare the table" she said.
She called menright after she had prepared everything. I placed some pasta and sauce on her plate. She mixed it and tasted it.
She looked at me and smiled.
"You are really good at this" she said.
I smiled. "Lets finish this na. Before my friends call me non stop for being late" I told her.
I volunteered to wash the dishes. She said she'll just fix herself..
After i washed the dishes, I sat on her sala. Its ironic how girly she looks like but have these posters of Curry and Wade hangging on her walls. She also has picturea with PBA starts that were framed, displayed her in her living room.
After a few more minutes she went out of her room. She was wearing a black off shoulder dress. Its sleeves reached her elbows and its lenght was about 4 inches above her knees. She was wearing a white pointed heels that would go around 3 inches. And her hair was in a messy bun.
"You look pretty." I managed to say.
"You look good yourself too. Lets go?" She said and got her bag.
I placed my hands around her waist and left her unit.
I wonder how this night would end.
