Chapter 5

Travis wall as Jake

"Lily dear? What can I help you with"

"Mom it's Kate"

"Oh Kate" her voice wasn't kind and calm anymore, now it was mad and serious "as i was saying earlier you will meet him next week"

"Mom, not to interrupt what you were saying buy why am I doing this?"

"Well his dad who is one of our good friends i must add said that he wants to give his business over to his son but he doesn't want to do it before he gets married and we thought that we would help out"

"Mom, again sorry to interrupt but in my 19 years of experience you didn't really like doing people favours so what are they giving you?" My parents were never the most generous people, they always wanted something back

"They aren't giving us anything, unless you count giving our daughter a husband"

"Mom, can't it just be a fake marriage?" Lily was staring at me trying to make sure that i wasn't rude "please"

"Well we did consider that but then we thought it would be better to just make it a real one" i would back out but considering who my parents are trust me you would also have agreed to whatever they said. I really did want to back out "so that noone can dig deep and figure out our plan"

"Mom what if I don't like him?"

"Oh you won't Kate but atleast he is attractive Bye" before i could register what she said she had already hung up on me

Do not be late next week wednesday-mom I saw the text on my phone after I gave back Lily's phone

Wear that black dress and shoes that I got you the other day-mom

I didn't even bother answering the texts

I sent Jake a text since I told him everything and Lily left soon after
Serious dilemma involving arranged marriages- Kate

Before i knew it I got a text back
Watching some series again are we?- Jake

Oh hell no... no-one messes with my Katie... be there in 5-Jake

And Jake was at my apartment in 5 minutes

I told Jake the entire story from beginning to end, I showed him the dress and shoes and he helped me prepare emotionally.

I am meeting my mystery husband today and Jake and Lily are at my apartment running around and getting me ready, Lily dis my hair and makeup and Jake was like Lily's little helper doing everything she asked. Even Daniel dropped by to see if i was ready

"No no no, the other eyeliner" Lily said to Jake and soon after I was told to close my eyes and Lily was applying eyeliner

"Kate, remember to smile whenever there are photos taken, act happy" Jake was preparing me for the paparazzi because believe it or not I do have paparazzi from time to time

"Photos taken?" Daniel asked sitting comfortably on my bed behind me

"Her paparazzi" Lily said sounding very distracted with my makeup

"You have paparazzi?" Daniel asked me

"Yes she does" Jake said before I could say anything "don't you know who her parents are,Daniel?"

"No- should I?"

"They are only the Meredith and John Isles" Lily said as if it was the most obvious thing "I'm done Kate now go get dressed, you have 5 minutes before the limo is here"

"I am pretty sure you know more about this meetup than I do!" I said as I followed Lily's orders

"Wait! Did you say John Isles, as in the richest man in London?"Daniel asked Lily

"Yeah, no big deal!"Lily said as she literally pushed me into the bathroom to get changed

"Big deal, very big deal! Is she Kate Isles as in daughter of richest people?" Daniel asked when I was out of the room

"Yes she is and you are her neighbour" Jake said as I heard his voice come closer to the bathroom "Katie, why doesn't your neighbour know who you are?"

"Jake you know I don't like telling people that I am an Isles" I said after i got dressed and I slowly opened the door to reveal my outfit, Daniel's mouth hung open, Lily looked like a proud friend and Jake looked shocked."So how do I look?"

"You" -Lily

"Look" -Jake

"Amazing" -Daniel

"Did you guys practice this while i was getting dressed" I asked laughing

Lily's phone began to ring"hello?" She said as she answered it "ok, bye" she hung up

"That was a quick call" Jake added as Lily walked to the door

When Lily opened the door she revealed a handsome young man with hazel brown eyes and dark brown hair "hi I'm Todd, your driver miss Isles" he looked at Lily who pointed her finger at me "oh, are you ready ma'am? I must add you look breathtaking"

" thank you, yes I'm ready let's go" I said as I grabbed my purse and heades for the door "Jake, would you mind locking up?" And then I left

"Will you manage the stairs ma'am" Todd looked at my six inch heels as we reached the stairs

"Please call me Kate, and yes I will manage, I have had a lot of practice"

When we left the building I saw a limo waiting for me, I got in and so did Todd
We drove for about 5 minutes before i got four texts

Just heard press is there, guy is in same limo as you just more to the back, only gonna be you and him neither of your parents will be joining, good luck -Lily

Oh yeah, forgot to say, you have to act like you know him even though you don't in front of press -Lily

I hope you aren't late -mom

Hi the last one was from an unknown number
I got another text from the same number nice to meet you, will see you in a bit -future husband the only person who that can be is the guy I'm about to meet
The car came to a stop and my door flew open, that was him
