"I-I think I'm in love with you Kate"
I started to laugh and punched his arm playfully, but he wasn't laughing along "wait, you're serious?" I asked as I stopped laughing
"Yes?" He said but it sounded more like a question
"No, you're not!" I said with shock "no! Luke Adams you are not in love with me! No no no, you loathe Kate Isles, you do not love Kate Isles" I went on probably making him feel bad but then I stopped and turned looking away from him
"Kate?" Luke asked
"Luke, I'm so sorry but I don't feel the same" he turned me to face him
"I know Kate" he said and then kissed me on my cheek "it's ok, I just wanted to tell you how I feel"
"Luke, are you sure you want to go through with this, I mean buying a house with someone you love but doesn't love you back? That is really unfair to you"
He chuckled slightly but looked sad "I have no choice" he started walking again and I walked next to him
Neither of us said anything as I kept replaying what just happened, he loves me?
But do I love him? I know I said I don't but deep down I have a haunting feeling that I am inlove with the man who just confessed his love to me
"Kate, I hope this doesn't get in the way of anything" he said softly next to me
"It won't Luke"
His voice confirmed how I feel, I love Luke Adams, I am in love with Luke Adams. It was supposed to be simply an arranged wedding and I was supposed to not love him but I do, I love the man that I am supposed to marry.
