*fast forward to Austin and Catherine's wedding*
"you may now kiss the bride" I stood next to Catherine as she kissed the love of her life. I looked into the audience and saw Luke smiling at them, this is the first time I've seen him smile since he came back from Mauritius.
soon after the newly wed couple walked out of the ceremony the reception began. Luke and I sat at different tables as he wasn't on the wedding committee so we barely had time to talk but before Austin and Catherine walked into the reception after changing their outfits I went to speak to Luke
"we really need to discuss what happened" I spoke making Luke look up
"What's gotten into you? why would you buy Albatu industries? are you going through some rebellious phase, kissing Christopher and now turning against your parents?" he glared at me
hearing Luke of all people say that really hurt me, he's usually so supportive of me, he'd usually understand that i had no idea Christopher wanted to kiss me, I wanted to say something that would hurt him but I decided against it
"I didn't kiss Christopher, he kissed me, you even heard me scold him afterward and him apologizing. I would have told you if you didn't see it happen." I spoke in hushed tones
"Kate, we're getting married soon and I get it, you don't want to marry me-" I interrupted before he could say another word
"of course I want to marry you Luke. 'I love you' doesn't mean nothing, if i say it, I mean it. the last thing you said to me before coming back was 'I love you' what happened to that?"
"when i said it I didn't think I'd catch you kissing my colleague" he said harshly and I had to stop the tears from escaping my eyes
"that really hurts" I said seconds before the doors swung open and the speakers say
"for the first time, please welcome Mr and Mrs Douglas" I sped over to the bridal table and along side everybody else I clapped at my friends who were busy walking in
some time passed and a few speeches including my own passed before the master of ceremonies said that the first dance is about to happen. the bride and groom stood up and Jesse, the best man came to stand next to me, waiting with me until it was our turn to join in to the dance
"Kate, we did it" Jesse smiled an award winning smile at me "we pulled of this amazing wedding and I couldn't be prouder" his excitement was contagious
"I must admit, it was lovely to work with you in the planning of this" the song hit the note where we had to join in on the dance and Jesse grabbed my waist tightly against his, I put my arms over his shoulders and we danced letting all those dance classes pay of "I'm so grateful for the dance classes" I laughed after he pulled me back after a spin
"I love seeing them together" he smiled making me look at Austin and Catherine as the rest of the bridal party started to join in on the dance
I could feel Jesse's breath on my face, we stood so close together it made me think of Luke. on my next spin I tried to catch a glimpse of Luke who was staring at me. the song ended and after thanking Jesse for the dance I walked over to Luke. it may sound weird but I want to be so close to Luke as I just was to Jesse
"may I have this dance?" I asked making him slowly stand up and accompany me to the dance floor. It was quiet and awkward for a few seconds before I spoke "Luke, we can't go on like this forever" my whole body felt warm standing against Luke
"I know" he said "I'm supposed to spin you out now but I don't want to let you go" he held me firmly against my hips and I held his neck
"don't, please don't let me go Luke" I said almost breathless as his breath tingled my neck "I want to stay like this forever" I forgot about our fight and my love for him in this moment just grew. he was the best dancer I have ever danced with and that says a lot, even the dance instructor didn't dance this well.
the song stopped but we still stood there dancing, till the next song started to play.eventually everyone cleared the dance floor and only Luke and I were left there dancing alone but I couldn't be happier.
"sorry" he spoke making me look him in the eyes "I know you didn't want to kiss him, I saw the whole thing, I saw you standing up for our relationship but I just got so jealous, I started believing that I don't deserve you and that you deserve a gentleman like Christopher, I didn't think anything through, I'm sorry" he was sincere, I couldn't stop looking into his eyes and I didn't want to let him go but the father daughter dance was coming up and I couldn't just ruin it for Catherine
I pulled away from Luke and took him by his wrist pulling him out of the hall. luckily their reception was in a high class hotel and everyone in the bridal party had a room. I took Luke to my room and when we got there Luke kissed me so very intensely
"I've been wanting to do this for weeks" he said as he started to unzip my dress, his fingers lacing my back and with every touch, the butterflies grew
