Chapter 13

Above- outfits that Luke and Kate are wearing
I was sitting in some kind of waiting room with Luke waiting to go in and meet with Anne Louis for our interview. Luke was sitting next to me fidgeting and tapping his foot nervously. I hate it when people are stressed and I just want to tell him to relax. I sat there staring at Luke trying to think of something to say that might relax him.

How's Zelda?
No, he'll think that I haven't forgiven him yet
I forgive you
My forgiveness isn't going to make him calm down
I heard Kanye West is running for president in 2019
He doesn't like Kanye West
I'm sorry for throwing food on you
He probably forgot about that
We'll make it
What is that supposed to mean
I hate it when you stress
That will sound too nice
How are you?
That might work

I sucked up my courage and decided to ask him "so love" the secretary could hear us so I jad to call him love "how are you?"

He looked up nervously "honestly sweetheart, I am very stressed out right now"

What should I say now? "Don't be, we'll make it through together" that was the most cliché thing anyone could ever say

"That is so cliché" he whispered in my ear then he moved away from my ear "I know we will" he said outloud

I noticed that he wasn't stressed anymore and seemed calm "I'm glad you aren't stressed anymore"

He started laughing and Anne Louis came out of her office. She smiled at Luke who immediately stopped laughing and both Luke and I stood up.

"Hi" she greeted shaking Luke's hand and hugging me "it's so nice to meet you, thank you for coming in" she turned around amd walked to her office gesturing for us to follow her.

"Thank you" Luke whispered in my ear as we walked

There was a huge table in her office, two seats for Luke and I to sit at, her own chair and some type of recording device. "I hope you don't mind switching off your phones" she said as she sat down at her chair

Both Luke and I took out our phones and switched them off "no we don't mind, after all the only person I need to talk to is Kate" Luke said which made my face turn warm

"So..." Anne said turning on the recording device "I am recording our conversation so that I can write it later." The recorder's light turned red which I assume means it's on. "This is Anne Louis, I'm here with Luke Adams and Kate Isles, so can I start by asking what happened between you two that lead up to the recording that we all heard"

I was about to answer but then Luke took over "Kate and I had a minor fight, which is why I wanted to have some time away from her so I lied and said that I was going to Egypt but I actually went to my friend's house." He paused "the day that Kate called was when my friend's sister, Zelda came and we have an identical phone so my phone rang and she thought it was her's so she answered and when she didn't recognise Kate's voice she looked at the caller Id and realised that it was my phone and not her's" I looked at Luke, this is also the first time that I heard this story

"Then I got mad and assumed that he was cheating on me and I said that I don't care because I was still mad about the previous fight" I finished the story, mostly lying

"Well that explains a lot" Anne said "so have you guys made up now"

"Yes we have" I said

The rest of the interview went by and before I knew it the interview was finished, Luke and I got into my Lamborghini and drove to an ice-cream shop.
We got ice-cream and then walked to the beach which was right across the shop

"I'm sorry I assumed you were cheating" I said as we walked on the beach

"It's fine, atleast you know what happened now" Luke took my hand as he spoke

I grinned slightly as I held his hand, I couldn't help but think how thoughtful Luke is.
He started looking at me while we were walking, I tried to ignore it but I just couldn't "what are you doing?" I asked as I looked at him and took a bite of my ice-cream

"I-I think I'm in love with you Kate"
