The longest 23 hours of my life, Luke's mom kept trying to talk about the wedding but every two words Luke would interrupt and they would start a fight before she eventually agreed with Luke and went on.
23 hours of someone planning my wedding the way she wanted it and I basically had no say."a five layer chocolate explosion, first layer, chocolate coconut. second layer, chocolate gateau. third layer, chocolate bliss cake. fourth layer, gluten free chocolate brownie cake. and lastly, the layer only you two will eat of is the chocolate cheese cake layer" I put my hand to rest on my head trying to stop my headache, I don't even like chocolate cakes, I much rather prefer anything else.
she turned the page and started reading out the flowers "each table will have a shenzen Nongke orchid and the bridal bouquet will without a doubt be Gardenias, wedding tradition in the Adams family to always have Gardenias" I tried to hold in my sigh but failed harshly
I don't even know what Orchids she's putting on each table and I don't have a say in it either. Luke, obviously knowing nothing of flowers just nods his head in agreement. After the flowers I just zoned out, Luke's mom babbled on a bit more getting Luke's approval or disapproval but I didn't even bother to chime in.
18 hours later and we were there, finally. the trip in Australia didn't last long, as soon as we landed we were greeted with magazines everywhere showing some very decent photos of Luke carrying me, each headline reading something different.

the worlds most famous love story since cleopatraevery newspaper or magazine or tabloid or billboard or sign has a different photo of Luke and I but it's a photo of Luke and I none the less.
Luke's mom caught a limo off to the hotel her husband owns as Luke and I just drove to Albatu headquarters. Everything ran smoothly and Luke didn't say anything, I think he's done arguing for a few days if I think about the flight
after a very important marketing meeting I had with a few of the workers at Albatu I fired all the moles in the office and got a few of MS's friends to fill in on those jobs. everything ran just as planned
nothing worth noting happened until the end of the day when a middle aged man walked up to me, grabbed my wrist and started pulling me away from Luke "what are you doing?" I asked as I pulled my arm free, recognizing his uniform as one of my dad's guards
"Let her go" Luke rolled his eyes probably also recognizing the uniform
the man spoke in a very deep voice "your father wants to see you mrs Isles" he said seconds before a black SUV stopped in front of Albatu industries, the door opened revealing my father. this is the first time since the engagement that I saw him
"dad" I greeted making the annoyance clear in my voice "what an unexpected surprise" his face looked a little angrier than usual
"Kate, this has gone way too far, get in the car now" I didn't mind a fight, I felt like it's necessary right about now. having not slept for more than 48 hours and getting worked up with the wedding and business I was more than annoyed enough to fight dirty
I gave a small grin as I walked closer to the car with Luke following close by
"not him" my dad looked pointedly at Luke
"but daddy, he's your soon to be son in law" I said in a somewhat high pitched voice grabbing Luke who had no idea what was going on and pulled him into the car after me
"Kate, this has gone too far" my dad started as the car started to drive "you are acting more immature than a 2 year old, this stops now" he was strict
"I don't know what you're talking about daddy" his jaw almost falls off of his face as he stares at me
"stop calling me daddy and start explaining yourself" I gave him a somewhat sly smile before I looked at Luke
"honeymoon investment daddy" I saw my dad get angrier by the second, the vein in his head starting to pop out
"the wedding is off" my dad snapped
"what?" this is the first time Luke spoke since we got into the car "no it's not" he sounded shocked but also hurt
my dad smiled slyly at Luke's pain "you heard me" he said as the door opened and Luke and I got dragged out of the car by strong guys and taken in different directions.
"it's only off when I say it's off" I yelled back in hopes of my dad hearing me
and the cameras all around us flashed
