I'm standing on the top of this massive hill, thinking I'm lost. It's dark and raining, how cliché. But what did I expect? I packed my life up in two days and here I am, in the middle of nowhere, trying to find a town called Asherville, which BTW, doesn't show up on any gps or map I could find. I had to follow instructions given to me over the phone. Great! I feel like a little kitten drowned and shivering on this freezing cold night. I though I may have missed a turn, but when I drove back the way I came, everything looked different. It must be the rain playing with me.

Getting back into the car, I re-read the directions. ...after passing the bridge go around the bend and over the hill. As you drive, say the town's name out loud. ... Huh? When did I write that down? I only remember writing up until the last turn off from the main road. This is just getting weird, but I can't stay here all night.
So here I am driving down the hill again and just keeping straight, since the visibility is terrible out here and what do you know, there it is, a big welcome to "Asherville" sign. As I said this out loud, I could faintly see lights in the distance. Who would have guessed. I can't believe I couldn't see it from the hill. Must be because I'm so dead tired. I've been driving for almost four days with only quick rest stops in between. I couldn't be late for this tutoring job. This is my only hope at the moment. A chance to clear my parent's debt, meet new people, maybe even fall in love. I'm as innocent as they come, which sucks. But I'm all on my own now. It's time to live. . .

My parents weren't the best, but they were the only family I had. I don't really know how parents are supposed to treat their children, but mine were extremely strict. I was home schooled from day one. Mother always said it's best to keep an eye on me at home, so she can be sure I'm not learning the wrong things from the common folk. I never understood why she looked down on them. I loved watching young girls walking through the park. Lovers kissing behind the trees. I yearned for that kind of freedom . But they kept me inside. Father always said my hair would attract too much attention. I guess it's true though. It would be hard to miss the blood red color. Mother tried to dye it another color, but it seems to just wash out within a few days. But I never complained. I always thought they knew best. Until their accidental death a few weeks ago. They only left a letter with instructions for the lawyer who assisted me with this job and he explained to me how they didn't leave me anything except the car and whatever belongs to me. The rest of their belongings were sold to make up for the huge amount of debt they left behind. And it was up to me to clear it. They only other thing the lawyer gave me, was an envelope with paperwork inside. But after everything that happened, I didn't feel like looking through those. I just placed them under all my stuff in a box while packing, I'll get to it someday.

As I'm driving into town, I couldn't help but notice how dark it was for this time of day. There were constant clouds covering the sky and as I stepped out of my car, it became very quiet. I thought I saw movement on my right, but as I turned to look closer there was nothing of importance. Up ahead there was a small Inn and the only lights I could see on this street. Guess I'm staying here for the night then. Walking into the Inn, I noticed quite a few village people sitting around, drinking and chatting quietly. I could hardly hear anything more than a whisper of conversation. Before I could take another step, a very tall well built gentleman stepped in front of me..." Are you lost?" I had to look up at him, since my head only reached his chest. " Sorry to intrude Sir, I'm supposed to start work tomorrow for a Mr..." rummaging through my bag, I found the notes and directions, " ...Mr Wolfe. I'm the new tutor, although I'm not too sure who I'll be tutoring to be honest. But I only arrived and I don't know the way to Mr. Wolfe's residence. Do you perhaps have a room available for the evening? I would be able to ..." suddenly he took my arm and lead me towards the door, opening it and gesturing for me to leave, he said " go straight down the road, take the second right and keep going, the gates will open and Mr. Wolfe will be there to greet you I believe. Now good evening." And he closed the door in my face. Just like that. Leaving a lady outside in the cold. How rude.

So, let me know what you guys think so far. Should I continue?
