Hidden Secrets

Chapter 22

I was waiting patiently in my private lounge area for m closest new friends, the only people I could trust to help me find my mother. I was reading one of her diaries as they all walked into the little lounge / library. The four Nymphs and Damon sat down where they could find a seat and Chase came over to sit the arm of my chair. They all looked at me expectantly, waiting for me to tell them what's going on.

" A few days ago, I felt this pull towards something. We thought it might just be because the enemy is closer and all that. But after having a chat with my dad, he confirmed that it is my mother. Now I don't have much of a choice, but I would like for you guys to join me when I leave tonight to go and get her back. As my dad mentioned, the enemy is ready to attack us, so they wont expect us to leave to go after my mother. We have more than double their numbers according to him, and our army will be able to keep them occupied long enough for us to slip in and out from wherever she is being kept. There will be a few strong fighter standing guard, I should be able to take them on myself. But I need some of my strength to get my mother back to my Dad as soon as I find her. After that, we will return to the battle at hand and help our men and woman finish this fight."

They all sat quietly taking in the info I just shared. Chase took my hand in his and gave it a kiss before agreeing to come with me no matter what. " We would be honored to help you save our Goddess princess. You can count us in." Edana spoke for the nymphs. Damon sat forward and smiled at her, " I will go wherever you go beautiful." Edana just gave him a loot hat would make lesser men squirm. "Great, now that's out of the way. I need to show you guys the face of the vampire I saw in the demon's mind. He seems really old but I don't know who he is, so one of you might be able to help." They all nodded their heads as I sent them the image via my wonderful mind. I heard Chase gasp and looked at him questioningly. " What is it baby? Do you know who it is?" " Yes, I know who it is. He was your father's right hand man. And my mentor. His name is Syngen, he disappeared when your parents were attacked, we thought he was killed because your father couldn't contact him after he lost his ability to return to earth. I can't believe he would do this. But it makes sense, he was in love with your mother and wanted her for himself. So he kidnapped her, but he must have realized she would never be his fully. That is why he wants you love. You are stronger, born from both good and evil. You are the balance to both worlds. If he got his hands on you, he would try to convince you to be on his side and all that. I doubt it would work though, you have a heart of gold."

I was shocked to say the least. So this is what it has come down to. I never thought I could be used or forced to choose sides. I can't do that. I would rather just stay out of it if I could. " Love, you okay? I'm sorry, that is just the closest theory I can imagine. Syngen is a vile creature. He looks harmless, but that is just a cover. When he transforms to his real form, he has these black horns and wings. He is pure evil and he hated that your father got a little soft after meeting your mother. He wanted to take over, but your father managed quite well while traveling between earth and Hell. I never thought he would take it this far." He pulled me up from my seat and placed me on his lap, holding me close to calm my nerves.

" I can beat him. I beat my father a few times, although it wasn't easy I admit. But I can do it baby. I'm just worried about what state he has left my mother in. She has been his prisoner for years now, we need to leave as soon as possible. You guys get ready, take only what is necessary and we'll meet you in the foyer downstairs in two hours. Inform the leaders of each group that we have to sort something out, to attack in two days as we planned. We should be back just in time to join the party." They all stood and left me with Chase, sitting quietly in his arms, enjoying my last few moment of peace and quiet. " I have no idea where we are going baby, but I know with you by my side I can do just about anything. I have full control of my powers and my little monster is itching for a fight. Let's get to our room so we can pack and get ready. "

I was getting ready to take a shower when Chase joined me in the bathroom. He climbed into the shower to get it ready for us and I slipped in behind him. Wrapping my arms around his waist and just holding him close, placing kisses across his back. I heard him moan softly as he closed his eyes and let the water rush over us. He took my hand in his and wrapped one of his arms around my waist, pulling me flush against him. He started humming a beautiful tune as he swayed us gently from side to side, running his nose across my neck and then leaning his head onto mine. I closed my eyes as a small smile lit up my face, " I love you so much Chase, you're my world, forever and always."

As we finished packing a light bag with a change of clothes, Chase came back into the room with a bag containing a few weapons. Since mine appear on their own when needed, I didn't have to carry them around. So that saved me a lot of trouble. We will be driving till we are closer and then going on foot to prevent being detected too early. We stood in our room, for a few minutes, just taking the time to appreciate each other. I was wearing tight black leather pants with knee high boots that had amazing sharp heels and a corset styled top that I hid a few daggers in for back up, just in case. Although I must admit, my breasts were a bit more visible then usual, but it was comfortable to move in. Chase was wearing jeans as well with a tight black t-shirt that hugged his muscles in all the right places. He had a gun holster strapped across his torso with a few guns and daggers attached to the belt. He slipped on a black leather jacket and I turned around as he helped me slip into my own. " He wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and kissed my neck. You need to snack before we go love, you haven't eaten all day. Come on, we still have time."

We got down to the kitchen and Susan sat there waiting for us. A plate sat waiting for me already and I ate quickly while Chase filled her  in on what's happening. " I need you to keep an eye on everyone for Susan, apart from the people coming with me, you are the only one left here I can trust. Keep a look out on the top floor where nobody is allowed to go please. And if anything happens, just give Chase a call, he'll have his phone on him at all times. But I should be able to reach you the normal way as well." I said as I tapped my head and winked at her. " Be careful Princess, I will do my best to keep everything under control this side until your return."

We said our goodbyes to the leaders gathered in the foyer of the mansion and they promised to do their best until our return. Damon jumped into a Jeep with the Nymphs as I climbed into Chase's car, which he refuses to let me drive. It's a black Chevrolet Camaro, and it gives me goosebumps when I hear the engine. I just love it. I closed my eyes for a moment as Chase looked at me for a direction. " Head East for now." And off we went.
