So I've managed to sneak out of the kitchen while those two idiots laugh for now reason. But I have no idea where this fireplace is. All I remember Susan saying, is that it's on the second floor. So here I am, looking into every room on this floor. But do you think I can find one room with a fireplace? NO!!!
"You know love, if you waited for us, we could've showed you where the room is. Sneaking away like that wasn't very nice of you to do." Chase was standing next to a painting of a very big black stallion, it looked dangerous to be honest. " You guys always laugh at what I say. I don't think it's that funny." I made a pout and looked at him from under my lashes, trying to look cute. He just gave me one look before he had me in his arms up against the wall. " Don't pout love, or I'll be forced to kiss it away. And I might not be able to stop with just one kiss" he whispered into my ear. His voice husky and deep, sending chills down my spine. His voice has the ability to sound like liquid lust. It's instant.
Susan chose that moment to interrupt us, I'm still debating whether that was good or bad. Chase pulled me away from the wall, and Susan stepped forward, sliding the painting to the side, revealing a hidden door. As she opened it, I could smell this familiar scent. I don't know how I knew it, but it smelled like home. I stepped into the little library/lounge area and glanced around and all the books, one still open on the small table beside a high back chair that looked so comfy, I just wanted to curl up in it and read a book. Chase stepped up behind me and pointed to the fireplace with the old clock sitting there on top. As I walked closer, I could see that there was a piece missing in the clock. Chase gave the piece to me, since I'm the one who has to place it back. I took a deep breath and just went for it. As it clicked into place, the whole fireplace shifted forward and to the side. Chase pulled it all the way forward so we could see what was behind it. There, behind the wall of the fireplace, in a little case of it's own made of glass, was the first piece of the tree. It had strange engravings on it, but you could tell from the word fire etched into the wood, which gift would come with this one.
As I touched the wood, I could feel liquid fire run through my body, but it didn't hurt. Suddenly I felt the floor beneath my body and I was cold again. Chase picked me up, carrying me to my room. He placed the first piece on my bedside table. " Your whole body lit up with fierce looking blue flames. I can't see any injuries anywhere, even your clothes are in one piece. How are you feeling? " " Tired, stay with me?" I mumbled softly before falling asleep. My last thought being, that his arms felt just right wrapped around my body.
