Hidden Secrets

Chapter 14

I felt exhausted after our morning adventures on the estate ground, so I lied down in Chase's bedroom. It smelled like him. So with his scent surrounding me like a blanket, I fell into a deep sleep.

It felt like someone was running their fingers though my hair. I opened my eyes, just to look into eyes that resembled my own. " Dad?" He smiled at me with such love shining in his eyes. " Hello sweetheart. I'm glad I got a moment to chat to you. I'm sorry I haven't before. But as you are changing and getting stronger, I can connect with you better from all the way down here." He seemed sad, so i sat up and wrapped my arms around his neck, squeezing tight. He held me close as he continued to speak to me. " I have another gift for you. Would you like to see?" I just smiled at him as he helped me to stand up and lead my over to an odd looking little chest, standing on the table in the corner. " Now this one has a bit of kick to it. So as soon as you touch it, don't let go. It will adapt to you as it's new mistress. It's got a bit of a temper as well, so you can't be too gentle with it. You have to command it to do as it is told. If you don't convince it, it'll be like a teenager and make your life a living hell." he laughed out loud at his own little joke.

He opened the lid and stepped aside for me to look into it. Inside the little chest was something that almost looked like a little star. It had sparks coming off of it randomly. As I took a hold of it, I could feel electricity running through my body, but I never dropped it. I just held onto it for all I was worth. It eventually settled down, so I moved my fingers, just to get a better look at it. It jumped from my hand and for the lack of a better word, ran away and under the bed. I Looked at my dad for help but he just raised an eyebrow at me. I had to be firm with it. " You better get out from under that bed u little monster, or you're going back into the dark box for good. I'm sure my father will have someone scarier to take of you. " Within seconds it was in my hand again, snuggling into my fingers and then it just disappeared. My dad looked at me amazed, " I can't believe you tamed it so quickly. I was sure it would take a few days at least."

We sat down on the couch, which I never even saw before. Which brings me back to a fact I neglected to question. " Where are we? Am I in hell?" He chuckled like all father do and took my hand in his. " No, you are not in hell, but one day you will be able to travel between worlds, so you can come and visit me as well. For now, we are in a space created by Morpheus, the Greek God of dreams, this is where loved ones can meet when they are separated by circumstances out of their control. We can change whatever we want in here, with just a thought. But it is time for you to go back. Chase is waiting for you to wake up. I'm happy that he is your mate Scarlett. He will take care of you and stand beside you when the time comes. I will talk to you again soon, we have some training to do later. I love you with all my heart." " See you later Dad. I love you too..."

As I woke up to Chase whispering sweet nothings into my ear, I couldn't help but feel a bit sad about leaving my dad behind. It only felt like a few minutes that we spent together. " You've been asleep for quite awhile love, were you that tired?" Huh? what is he talking about, I've only been sleeping for max an hour. " No you haven't Scar, it'll be 6am in a few minutes. Susan id you went to bed early, so she didn't want to disturb you until I got home. I tried to wake you up, but you were out like a light." I laid my head onto his chest and snuggled into his warmth. " I spoke to my father. He gave me a gift. It's quite uhm, shocking?" He just looked at me with one eyebrow raised, waiting for me to continue. " Let's see if I can show you shall we?"

I turned onto my back and held my hand out, palm facing up. "Come say hello you little monster" And there it was, sitting quietly in my hand, sparks flying all over. Chase sat up quickly, eyes wide with wonder. " Do you know what that thing is love?" "No, but it has accepted me as it's new mistress. Father seemed pleased that I could control it so quickly." He moved closer to get a better look. " It's a shard that broke off from Zeus's thunder bolt. He gave it to your father as a gift of gratitude after your father saved him from one of his enemies. But not even your father was able to control it." The little thing started to bounce on my hand, like it was demanding an introduction. So I took Chase's hand and scooted the little monster onto it. " Stay. This is my mate. You are to behave for him as well. If he needs your help, you will do so without a second thought, do you understand? He loves me, and you are a part of me now. So he loves you too." It seemed to like Chase as it ran up his arm and snuggled into his neck before jumping over to me again and disappearing into my hand.

He just sat there looking at me like I was some kind of freak show. " What? Didn't you like what I said?" " No, it's not that love. You are just, simply amazing and you don't even realize it. Everything that you've accomplished and been through, has made you so strong and I love you more every second of ever day. And even the intervals between those seconds." He copied my father's words. Reminding me that I still have to show him the third piece.

Jumping up from the bed, I ran out of the room expecting him to follow me. As I stopped outside the secret door to my father's library, Chase came to a sudden stop beside me. " You just ran like me love, when did that happen?" I just smiled at him and kissed his cheek. " I realized that I could probably do everything you can, since father technically created you. So I've been practicing with Susan a bit while you were gone. I don't like using the shadows, they are a bit creepy. Have you noticed how they reach out to touch my shadow when I walk past them?" he just chuckled as we entered into the library. Walking over to the small table, I opened the secret compartment and pulled out the tray containing the three pieces. Chase looked over my shoulder and smiled happily. " You found it. Where? In the garden?" I closed the tray silently and we sat down on the cozy couch, me snuggling into his side.

" I found it by the tree, and then the tree picked my up with one of it's branches. It was incredible. I spoke to the tree and it placed my down on the ground gently. But I haven't played with it much after that." I looked around the room and noticed a potted plant by the window. Twirling my finger, it grew vines and flowers. I called it closer and it came to me, caressing my face with it's petals. Then I got a good idea. I looked Chase straight in his eyes and gave him a wicked smile. " Trust me?" He seemed reluctant at first, until he noticed me pushing him onto his back on the couch. " Put your hands together for me baby" he did as told and I directed the the vine around his wrists, tying them together firmly and then pulling his hands up above his head. " Are you ready for my Baby?" I whispered in his ear as I slipped my hands underneath his shirt, and playfully bit his neck, making him growl at me with lust. " I haven't had breakfast yet, but you will do nicely. I've always wondered what you would taste like."
