After my very relaxing shower, I strolled down to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. Chase was standing against the counter, sipping on a cup of blood I guess. As I stepped closer, I could actually smell it, and for some kind of reason it smelled delicious. " Could I have a sip of that? I can smell it and it smells good." He looked at me strangely and handed me the cup. " It could be a part of the changes you're going through, but it might make you sick as well. Just take a small sip love. We don'y want to push your limits." As I took a sip, my body must have reacted to it. I started shaking slightly and I had a strange ache in my stomach. I bent over to relieve myself of this strange feeling and Chase was holding onto me by my arm, rubbing my back soothingly. " Deep breaths love. Just relax. I'm here, I've got you. "
I sat down on the kitchen chair, laying my head down on the cool counter top. "What the... I can see everything. And what is that delicious smell?" turned around and walked closer to chase, sniffing as I get closer. All the way to his neck, up and down. Hmm, omg that's good. "That's my scent love, now you know why I like smelling you everyday. It's a mate thing."
"It looks like your senses are kicking in. Must be from your father's side though. See if your speed has increased. Think about going to the bedroom and back, and see what happens. " Okay Scar, you can do this. Just concentrate.
Suddenly there I was standing in my bedroom. Wow, that was quick, I didn't even feel myself run. " How did you do that?" Behind me stood Chase, looking a bit shocked. " What do you mean? I did what you told me to do. I thought about where I wanted to go. Did I do something wrong?" He came to stand in front of me and held my face between his hands. " No, you didn't do anything wrong. It's just that, you didn't run love, you just disappeared into thin air. I think you teleported yourself here. That's the only explanation I have for this." I don't know if he was proud or scared, but the look he was giving me was a bit strange.
" Well, let's see if I can do it again shall we? " I thought about going to the kitchen, but it didn't work. I was getting frustrated, when he suggested that I stand in a shadow. I just looked at him like he was stupid. " Just try it love, if it works, then I can guess what's going on okay?" Shadow, shadow, where is a shadow. Oh there we go, the curtains are throwing a shadow. Let's try this again. I made sure I was standing in the actual shadow. Then, thinking about the kitchen, I could feel a change in the air. Opening my eyes, I was standing in the kitchen. And in came Chase again. "So, what's this ability then? Seems a bit weird with all the shadows and all." " I believe this is a gift from you father. Being able to teleport from one shadow to another. You just need to know or see the shadow. In this case you were lucky though, imagine teleporting to the only shadow in this room and it's on the counter next to the toaster and not on the floor? You'd be a bit uncomfortable. But I think any dark corner etc would work as well. Imagine the possibilities at night?"
We were sitting there comfortably chatting about a few other things I should try, when Susan came flying into the kitchen. " Have you used the pendant on the fireplace yet? No? Well let's go, I want to see what happens!!!" As if realizing what she just said, she stopped suddenly and looked at us with big round eyes. "My apologies Master, Princess, I simply forgot my place for a second." She looked down at her feet and it looked like she had tears in her eyes. " Hey Susan, please don't apologize. I prefer that you talk to me like I'm a normal human rather than a stuck up princess who will eat your heart if you accidentally fart too loud."
And there they go again, laughing at me like I'm an amateur clown. I wonder if I can just walk out without them realizing...
