Chapter 3

" Run Scar!!!" I turned around and tried to see who was shouting at me, but I could only see two figures fighting each other in the woods. As I turned around and started to run towards the house, I noticed something panting next to me, almost like a dog. As I peaked to the side, I felt my heart stop and I nearly went down right there. The most beautiful black panther was running next to me. For some unknown reason it made me calm down to know he's there with me. What the hell is going on here? Suddenly everything shifted and I was sitting in a chair. My hands were bound together behind me and there was a man standing to the side int he shadows. "I've got you at last, he will never find you here my sweet Scarlett." He stepped into the light of the moon shining through a small window behind me. As he leaned down to me face and smiled, I noticed the strangest thing ever, he had fangs!! I couldn't move, or scream even though I tried. He then leaned closer to my neck, smelling me like you would smell a delicious meal and I realized. This is it, I'm going to die. Where the hell is Chase? As he sank his fangs into my neck I finally scream his name " Chase!!! Help ME!!!!" And everything went black.

I was jolted awake suddenly when I heard someone slam my door open and rush up to me in my bed. I tried to scurry away from them, I couldn't breath. That felt so real. Who the hell is Chase?
"Scarlett, you had a nightmare. Calm down, please" I noticed Mr Wolfe standing next to my bed, reaching out to me. He had a very worried look in his eyes. " Wha What are you doing here?"

"I heard you screaming and I had to check in and see if you were ok. It must have been bad, you're still crying Scarlett." I just looked at him and tried to remember what the hell that dream was about.
" I was running and a tiger was there somewhere. He had me tied up, I couldn't do anything until he he, omg he bit me!!" Tears started streaming down my face. I felt arms encircle my small frame and without thinking I placed my head on his chest. Who's Chase? As I had this thought, I felt him stiffen. He breathed deep and placed his mouth close to my ear. " I am Chase Wolfe." He whispered softly to me. " I didn't say that out loud. How?" I moved away from him quickly, hugging a pillow to my chest and looking at him in the dark, just sitting there as if he didn't know what to say. "Scarlett, you need to go back to sleep. You've had a long day. Tomorrow, I'll show you around and I'll explain some thing to you is that ok?" He seemed sad, or conflicted. God I wish I could just see his face. As he shifted on the bed, I noticed his eyes glowing in the dark. That beautiful blue. I gasped out loud and he turned his head away quickly. " I'm sorry. You don't have to be afraid, I promise you are safe here. I won't ever harm you in any way. You're my ... We'll talk in the morning. Good Night Scarlett."

After he left silently, I just sat there. My brain was working overtime right now. how am I supposed to go to sleep. After that strange dream. Me knowing his name in my dreams. His eyes glowing int he dark. The looked like liquid blue fire. So beautiful, yet so deadly. He seemed ashamed that he frightened me. I can't leave. I have nowhere to go and nobody to go to. I have no money, no friends, no family. I guess the only choice I do have, is to stay and let him explain. It can't be too bad, can it?
