I hardly slept last night. I can still remember my dream. That voice won't go away. As I'm lying here in bed, contemplating the idea of taking a relaxing shower, Susan came into my room with coffee that smelt like heaven. I don't remember phoning to ask for it, but I guess this is normal for them. She placed it down on my bedside table and sneaked a peak at me, noticing me looking at her silently. She gave me a small smile, like she knew I was slightly afraid of getting up. " Good Morning Miss. I hope you don't mind me bringing you coffee this early in the morning. The Master said you might appreciate it, since you had a restless night. I'll run you a bath, that should help you relax a bit." She didn't even give me a chance to reply. She just slipped into the bathroom and soon I heard the water running into the bath. She came out as soon as she was done and told me that she's be back within the hour to take me down to the dining room. It's seems Mr Wolfe wants me to join him for breakfast, and I also need to be introduced to his nephew.
After relaxing in the warm bath, I walked into my closet to find more clothes than what I owned. Where did this come from? I walked into my room in just my towel ready to call Susan, when I noticed Mr Wolfe standing by the window, looking outside. As if he heard me, he turned to say something and paused when he noticed me in just my towel. I swear I heard a growl from him. But i quickly ran back into the closet and closed the door. " I'm so sorry Scarlett, I wanted to make sure you were okay. After last night. I was worried I would come back here and you would be gone." He spoke quietly, he seemed sad and slightly hesitant. I took a few deep breaths to calm down my nerves. I swear I'm going to have a heart attack if he keeps looking so handsome every second of the day. I mean who looks like a God at 7am. come on!!!
I heard him chuckle softly. "I'll be right out. Just give me a moment." I managed to say quite calmly. I got dressed in a pair of jeans and I fluffy Jersey. As I stepped into the room, I noticed he was nowhere to be seen. "Well, that's just rude. Just leave without a word will you!" I spoke out loud to myself. " I'm right here Scarlett." I jumped when I heard his voice, he was sitting comfortably on one of the couches in my lounge area. Looking at me with amusement shinning clearly in his eyes. "Oh!!! Stop doing that! You are going to give me a heart attack at the young age of 20 if you keep popping out and being so quiet!" He actually laughed at me. Can you believe it! " I thought it was my good looks that would cause your heart problems?" he asked softly. I didn't know how to respond, so I took my cold cup of coffee to distract myself from looking at him too long. As i took a sip, my nose scrunched up immediately. Cold coffee is not my cup of tea int he morning. Tea, I would really prefer a cup of warm tea.
Sitting down opposite him, I risked a glance and he was once again just looking at me, like he's studying a painting and he had to remember each and every detail. I cleared my throat and he gave me a small smile before walking to the door and opening it for the maid, who didn't even knock yet. I'm just not going to over think this. Sure he seems to read minds. Opens doors before people knock. There is a perfectly good explanation to why this is all possible, or I'm going crazy.
" Scarlett, please have seat. And I'll try to explain a few things to you. I need you to keep calm. Don't interrupt me. And please try to keep an open mind. What I'm about to tell you is the truth. I can't tell you everything just yet. But as you learn and get used to a few things, I promise I'll tell you whatever it is you need to know. Is that a deal?" I just looked at him or a moment and nodded my head slowly. Stay calm Scar, don't freak out. Just listen and learn and then judge. Okay, don't judge, that's not very nice.
He cleared his throat and made himself comfortable before proceeding. " So, let's start from the beginning. Your parents, weren't your real parents. They were chosen to keep you safe and to let your true guardian know in case anything strange happened." He looked at me for a reaction, but I think I was just too shocked honestly. So I gave him yet another nod to continue instead. "Okay. So while they looked after you, your guardian, who was actually your real uncle, was taken by some people and I've been trying to find him for the last few months and then suddenly your caretakers were killed. I knew they found you, so I had to move fast and get you here as quickly as possible. It's the only way I could ensure your safety. So here you are. Do you have any questions yet?" I thought for a moment, trying to process all of this information. No wonder they didn't treat me like their own, they didn't love me. I was just a job to them. Sure I had a perfect education, but why was I left with their debt to pay if I'm not even their child?
I looked up at him with a questioning glance and he realized I was waiting for him to answer my thoughts. He smiled sheepishly before replying. " Yes, I can hear what you're thinking, let's just say it's like a gift because of what or rather who I am. But to answer your questions, there is no debt. The lawyer who gave you all those details actually works for me. It was just a means to get you here as quickly as possible. I know this all seems a bit far fetched. but I promise it will make sense." He stood up rather quickly for a normal human being and walked over to the window. I just pretended I didn't notice. What is he? He turned around and smiled gently at me. " Do you believe in the supernatural? You know, like in the movies? Have you ever wondered why your hair won't change color? Or how it is possible for someone as young as yourself to be so intelligent that you finished a few degrees before your 19th birthday?"
"Well, I never really gave it much thought to be honest. My parents or caretakers, or whoever they were, didn't give me reason to doubt much of my life. I never met other people, I wasn't allowed outside, except if it was in the backyard. And then it was only for an hour max. I've always felt alone to be honest. Even when they were there. I just accepted it for what it was. I didn't even watch Television. So, you could say I'm a very intelligent girl who knows a lot about nothing important. " He walked over to me and offered me his hand, " Come, I'll show you who you really are and what you will be capable of once you have your 21st birthday."
I somehow knew I could trust him. That he won't hurt me no matter what. So I took his hand and he lead me out of my room. I guess I'm not here to tutor his nephew since I'm the one learning. At least he's hot. HA! Oh shit, he can hear me. Uh... blue lorry, yellow lorry, red lorry. I heard him chuckle lightly at my thoughts. " Don't worry, I'll teach you how to block your thoughts from me when needed. I know it can get a bit irritating at times. I just hope that when you know all of it, that you wouldn't feel the need to keep your thoughts from me." He seemed lost in thought after that, walking patiently with me down the hall. Let the tutoring begin!
