Three weeks, two day and.....I looked down at my watch, and twenty-five minutes now since I have been working here. Let me tell you it has been hell, from dealing with his mood swings from being the most caring person in the world to a complete ass wipe. His little stupid request to organiz the papers that he threw across the room because of a bad call or something.
This isn't work this should be called slavery. How ironic I'm black and he's the white master. I started laughing but it was cut short when he called. "He won't even allow me to finish laughing" I whispered to the empty room.
"Samantha" He calls again. Cant he wait. I rushed to the office
"Yes?" I asked. I didnt have to ask what it was cause I knew it was another one of his stupid request.
"Those book shelves look a little dusty. Clean them"
"Yes" while was cleaning I got to that one book and lingered there for a while.
Joshua POV
Its been three weeks now. I know I have been acting like a child with all these unesscesary requests, but I cant help it she is fun to toy with. I even been spending more time here at home. What can I say. She is a sight to see when ever she was upset or embarrassed, which she seems to be so easily to do.
I looked around the office for something for her to do in here then I looked a the book shelves. "Samantha" I called her name which by the way I think is a beautiful name and I don't know why.
"Yes?" she came into the room.
"Those book shelves look a little dusty. Clean them"
I could tell by her expression that she was annoyed. I couldn't help but smile, she was just too easy and is is entering. She got to cleaning right away. I stood there with my hands in my pokets watching her, well more at like observing her. I like the way she moves graceful whenever she's devoted to doing anything. Her curly hair looked soft pulled back. The way the jeans huged her tight like a second skin. Her top fitted her perfectly without clinging on to her too much.
It's a waste that she doesn't know her potential. She is beautiful but would never believe it if anyone should tell her. I guess that is to be blamed on her stubbornness.
I saw her slow down then I noticed it, just as I noticed it ever other time she was dusting the book shelves. I walked up behind her but she froze. I pulled out the book that she was starting at I flipped it over and read the title "lies Lovers Tell" she turned around and looked at it in my hand.
"If You want you can have it" but once I said that she refused and begin her dusting again. "No I insist, plus you have been starting at it every time you were in her. So here you can have it." I stretched the book to her once more but this time she accept it. " You are more than welcome to read the books if you like, I don't mind but make sure it doesn't cause a conflict between your work."
I lied. I didnt mind if she spent all her time in here reading. They would only stay in here and collect dust anyway, I had boughtthem in hopes of reading them in my spear time but wad never givebn the time of the day. I was always busy with the company. Being that I will be taking it over soon. I just need my father to sign the contract and I'm home free and all of that will be possible with her.
These books deserves better than me and she looks like that person to give them better. They shouldn't be left on shelves to collect dust.
I didn't even realize how close we were to each other. We stood the staring into each others soul, I didn't realize until now how bright her eyes were. Her eyes looked as if they were holding something back. Something that was preventing the real her from begin seen. For some strange reason I wanted to remove the sadness and replace it with joy and laughter.
I was so deep in thought I did not notice when my hand moved from my side to touch her face. To my surprise she leaned into my touch, closing her eyes as if to saver the moment. Her eyes flow open once more and then all her hurt were visible. Floating at the surface. I wanted it to go away and there it was I was inching in closer and closer. I paused for a while to make sure but reality interupt and she moved away.
I was a little disappointed but never let it showed. She got back to her dusting. Shifting uncomfortably. The ackwordness was so thick in the air you could slice through it.
I walked back to my besk to sit down. I was sitting with my chin resting on my in twined fingers that were supported by my elbows. I sat there thinking about what I saw the way her eyes where dripping with sadness. What could have caused all that mixed emotions to be locked away in her eyes. Maybe a family member died or maybe a boyfriend broke up with here. Only time can tell.
I heard her clearing her throut. My head snapped up immediately I didn't even noticed when she got In font of me. "Is that all?" She looked everywhere else but at me.
"Yes" she was at the door when I remembered "Samantha, Beverley will be coming in less seeing that you are here to help me out" I being that Beverley was getting old I gave her more time off because Samantha would be her.
"Thats ok. I don't mind" I heard her whispered. I looked in her hand but I didn't see the book I looked over to the book shelve. It was back in its place. "You don't want the book?"
"No that's ok I'll just save up the money to buy one" she is stubborn I can give her that.
"Didn't your parents ever told you it is bad manners to refuse a gift from someone?"
"Yes, but not from strangers"
"Samantha we have long passed the stranger stage of this relationship. We have been sleeping under the same roof for more than three weeks now. Don'tyou think we are far from strangers!" Did I just said that about a relationship. What relationship. Am I that desperate?
" No. We are still strangers. I know nothing about you. You know nothing about me. And any relationship we have here is between a boss and his employee. If we are done here I would like to go"
I waved one of my hand to the door indicating that she could leave. She said a "thank you sir" empasisin on the sir. I narrowed my eyes at her back as she left the room.
" we are far from done miss. Jones. The game is just beginning" I said slamming my hands on the desk. I turned in my chair facing the window. The view was breath taking
