Flamaras POV
I wake up and hear a buzzing noise. I walk across the room and find my phone and answer it. "hello?" I answer.
"Flamara! Thank goodness you're alive. The Light Festival is tonight and we need you to come back now for the ceremony as a sign of peace and respect towards the other elements" My father says.
"Um, I can't really come back, I'm not kidnapped or anything I'm just, um stuck, I guess is how I can explain it" I told him. "Uh, can I call you back? Bye" and frantically hang up.
I walk downstairs and see Glimmer, Hanna, and Jack.
"The light Festival is still happening! How did I not know about this?" I ask.
"Um, we didn't know about it until today either. Our Mom just told us. " Jack answered.
" Yeah and guess who has a plan forming about it" Glimmer said.
"I'm thinking about how we can try to push peace during the festival, obviously if they are having it then peace is on the table" Hanna said.
" I highly doubt that. Without me there, My father will not agree to peace. " I answer and sit down, grabbing the food on the table.
"You can't go, it's too risky. Your Father will ask questions and blame the freezers, continuing the war" Hannah says.
"I get that, but until I'm in my father's sight, I know he will not agree to anything, and neither will the Crystallizers if Kato gets a say, I'm sure he likes me." I say.
"I know, but we have to think of something... WAIT, what if Jack brought Glimmer as his date to the festival, it will show that the elements can get along even if the Kings and Queens don't get along" Hannah says. Glimmers chokes on the water she is drinking, and her eyes look like they are about to pop out of her head.
"Excuse me" Glimmer coughs out.
"Aw, you don't want to go with me" Jack pouts. Glimmer's cheeks go red, clearly embarrassed.
"I think I'm with Glimmer, I don't understand how that will show anything except Jack found his hands on some crystallizer" I say.
"What?" Glimmer asks.
"No, think about it. Our great great great, a couple more great grandparents started the first war because of jealousy between the royal children. Did the people of the elements ask to be a part of this war? no! I've seen the emotions of the people when we travel to other sectors, they don't care about the war, the only one who care are the soldiers who are drafted and forced to care and see the damage the elements cause each other. So, if we can show that people don't really hate each other, our parents may see that this war is unnecessary." Hannah said.
"Fine, I won't go, Glimmer can go as Jacks date, and a peace treaty will form out of thin air" I say. "I'm going back to my room" and head upstairs.
"Hey Flamara" someone asks. I turn around and see that it is Glimmer.
"Oh, hey. Sorry I kinda lost my temper." I apologize.
"It's fine. Um, what did you mean by jack finding his hands on a crystallizer? does he have a girlfriend or-"
"No, it's just, Jack had a reputation for a while when he was younger for always bringing a different freezer to a gala or festival. But he stopped that a long time ago and I haven't seen him bring a girl in a long time. I mean, granted there is no galas to really take a girl to, but it doesn't matter. Jacks a great guy I guess but just, be careful. You know how boys are."
"Oh, ok." she says and walks back down to the dining hall.
Glimmer Pov
That night I am dressed up quite possible the nicest I've ever been. Hannah has her personal stylist measure me and makes me a custom dress for the night. it is light purple and pink, with subtle designs of crystals throughout the dress seams. The material of the dress refracts light like a crystal. I am getting my makeup done when flamara comes in in normal flamer clothes, smiling.
"You look so pretty; you're going to do great tonight." she says.
"thanks, did Hannah tell you the plan?" I ask.
"Yeah, it's a half plan, but it can work" She says.
We go to Hannah's room, Hannah's ballgown like dress makes my slim dress look like nothing, but she is royalty so, that means a bigger dress. Flamara and Hannah go over the etiquette I need to know, but for the most part they said Jack will do all of the talking and I can just stay by his side and smile. there is a knock on the door and Flamara opens it.
"Well you look Festival ready" Jack jokes. He walks in, wearing a Freezer uniform. His hair is styled perfectly. I smile softly.
"Hey, you look, great" Jack says. I blush.
"You guys should go, I'm sure they're ready for you" Flamara says. when I leave, Flamara whispers to me "You got this, just don't blush around him as much" and giggle.
"I won't" I tell her and leave.
As we leave, Hannah pulls me aside.
"If I didn't think you were up this, wouldn't have volunteered you, you know?" she asks.
"I know, I'm up for it, and I really want to help, honestly" I tell her.
"Good, also I think you and Jack will work together well, but you may want to blush less around him"
"Do I really Blush around him that much?"
"Um, kinda yea. But seriously, just relax, it will all be fine."
