The Gifts

Hannah POV

Glimmer falls to the floor, unconscious. 

"Glimmer!" My brother yells and catches her before she falls. I can tell that he care for her, the way he has been taking care of her this past week. But i look into his thoughts, even though I promised him I would never read his mind, and see that he has started developing feelings for her. Shocker, he might actually have feelings for her. 

"Oh no!" Flamara yells. "Has she been sick?" 

"Ever sense the night of the festival, her first headache was a little before  the explosion, thats why we left the room." Jack explains. 

"Why didn't you tell us this? We could have helped her, figured out what is wrong!" I say. I don't understand why Glimmer would tell my brother and not us. 

"This is something we could have prevented" Flamara says. 

"I don't know, I've talked to many doctors, tried different medicines but nothing has helped." He says. Jack picks up Glimmer and places her on my bed. 

"Well, now what?" I ask. I start pacing, pacing helps me think. Khaleesi is sitting at my desk, looking at everyone with her blank face, unfazed by what is happening around her, as usual. 

"How do we know crazy girl isn't linked to Glimmers headaches? They started when she was around them" Flamara points out. 

"They also started around the time when she arrived here, even though we don't know how she got here, because I did not send you to earth Hannah" Jack argues. 

"Both of you have a point." I say. 

"Why would I cause Glimmer pain, she rescued me. she heard my call for help" Khaleesi said. 

"What do you mean, call for help?" I ask.

"You were the voice Glimmer was hearing, weren't you?" Jack asks. 

"Glimmer is hearing voices too?" Flamara asks.

"No, only on the night of the festival. she heard a voice before the explosion and then she followed it down to Khaleesi. Thats how I think we found her" Jack says. 

"Yes, I spoke to Glimmer through minds." Khaleesi said. 

"Wait, you're telepathic too?" I ask. It is common for royals to have extra powers, or gifts is the more common term. But not all do. 

"Yes, I can speak to people telepathically, but I can not read minds." Khaleesi says. 

"Well, thats something good to know, I guess." Flamara says. she looks down at her right arm, wanting to say something.

"What is it? Flamara?" I ask.

"Oh, um, I have a gift too." she says. Flamara pulls up her right sleeve, revealing a tattoo of a Phoenix. The tattoo lights up and a Phoenix emerges and flies around my room, then lands on Flamara's shoulder. "Meet my Phoenix" she says with a smile. 

"That's a cool gift." Jack says. 

"What can the other children do?" Khaleesi asks. 

"Well, Jack creates portals, Riff can heal faster, but only under water and has more speed than the average person on land and underwater, Mia could talk to animals, but I don't know if Kato has anything, I've never talked to him." I say.

"I think he does, I never asked him about it. I never wanted to bring up mine because I knew my father could take away my phoenix." Flamara says. 

That night I think about the conversation with Kato, and how he mentioned an orb. I'm sure he wasn't asking me if I stole Khaleesi, or I guess Kira, but this orb that he mentioned. Whatever this orb is, I don't think he was using it for good because then he wouldn't have been so secretive about it.

Janes POV

I am in my room, reading a book when there is a loud knock on my door. 

"Come in" I yell. Kato busts through the doors, but I do not look up from my book.

"WHERE IS MY ORB" He yells. 

"I don't know what you're talking about" Isay, still not looking up from my book.

"JANE, listen to me. I have searched my ENTIRE ROOM, and it is not there. It has been missing sense the festival, which was held at my palace which was ATTACKED, by who? We still don't know." He starts. 

"Ah, the attack you said would happen, and my family would stay safe, if i do remember your words correctly" I say, looking straight into his eyes. "And guess what<, my sister was MURDERED by one of your men! And I know it was a crystalizer, I saw the crystal dagger beside her. I hope you and your army are prepared for what is coming. Because there is blood on YOUR hands. You wanted a show, you wanted to further the war, create more chaos so you could take control when you became King? Well, congratulations, you got that. But I hope you know, If you ever become king, I will NEVER, and I mean NEVER respect you." I tell him.  

"Your sister wasn't supposed to die, she was-"

"But she did! so it doesn't matter how she fit into your stupid plan." 

"Fine, I know you are mad that your sister is dead-"

"Oh, I am beyond mad"

"Yes, whatever. But I was supposed to be hannah that was hurt, but I guess your sister was next to Hannah and the guard missed or something. But I can still fix this. We can change the sides of the war, I almost have Stella on my parents side. Please Jane, help me" He says and reaches out his arm. 

"Whether you were trying to hurt Hannah or my sister, I do not care. Now please leave my room." I tell him. 

"Fine. But if you have my orb, I will get it back" He says and leaves. 

Once I am sure he is gone,  I go to my dresser and open the door and pull out Katos Orb. 

"Well, sorry Kato. I already have Stella on my side. And with her, I'm going to make you pay, All of you. Kato, Hannah, Jack, Flamara,  Riff, all the spoiled children of the royals. It is time for a new generation of elements to come to power" I say to myself, grining.
