The Partial Truth

Hannah POV

It's been a couple days since the festival. I can't remember half of what happened that night. I remember there was an explosion, and everyone ran. Chaos broke out, I told Jack and Glimmer to run, they left the room a while before the explosion, I think Glimmer was sick. Now I feel awful for bringing her, but I guess Jack took care of her. But through all the chaos, Mia was stabbed and, died from the wound. Her parents found her lying peacefully with flowers around her, a crystal dagger by her side, but with a lilac and blue crystal flower in her hand.

Jane won't talk to anyone, but I saw her talking to Kato during the festival. I could tell that they were both angry, but what about I couldn't tell. Riff won't talk to anyone either, but he was injured and probably can't talk to anyone anyway. Glimmer only leaves her rooms for meal, and really only talks to Jack. My only company is Flamara, but she's actually warmed up to me, and this girl Khaleesi.

Glimmer and Jack rescued Khaleesi from the crystallizer palace on the night of the festival. Khaleesi keeps saying she only wants to talk to Glimmer, but Glimmer never wants to talk to her. I've tried talking to her, asked her questions about who she is and where she's from, but she always answers, 'I don't know'.

I'm in the dining room with Flamara reading a book when Jack comes in, Glimmer closely behind him.

"where's Khaleesi, I think I know who she is." He says.

"Um, probably in her room, who do you think she is?" Flamara asks.

"Remember Kato had a twin?" Jack asks.

"Yeah, and she died in a fire, why?" I ask, confused.

"I think she's still alive. Every crystallizer royal has a tattoo from when they are born, specific to their birth year. Kato has one of an emerald. So, his twin sister would also have the tattoo because the fire happened when they were 7." Jack explains.

"what makes you think that crazy girl is the princess?" Flamara asks.

"I agree, she's kinda scatter brained. Also, Kato's sister's name was Kira, not Khaleesi." I say.

"Think about it, she can't remember anything except her name. But if they told her she had a different name when she woke up, there would be no way of knowing that she is the princess, unless you see her tattoo" Glimmer said.

"Hm, you have a point." I tell them.

"I guess there is only one way to know if your strange theory is valid" Flamara says and stands up.

"Wait, we can't just barge into her room and ask to see a tattoo, that's a little personal, don't you think?" I ask.

"She trusts me, for some reason" Glimmer says. Glimmer, Jack, and Flamara start to go upstairs.

"Fine, I'll come too, I can tell if she's lying, I guess." I say and follow them. We walk up to Khaleesi's room and Glimmer knocks on the door.

"Hey Khaleesi, it's Glimmer and everyone else, can I come in and ask you a question?" Glimmer asks. To my surprise, Khaleesi opens the door and lets us in. She has on a freezer robe and her hair is up in a bun. I can see her eyes, they are a mix of dark blue and purple, so she is definitely a crystallizer.

"Hello Glimmer, and Glimmers friends. What is your question?" She asks and sits down on her bed. She rearranged most of the furniture in her room.

"Um, this is kind of an odd question, but do you have a tattoo?" Glimmer asks.

"No, but I do have this mark on my arm" She says. So she's not the princess. I give my brother a look, and he shrugs.

"oh, can we see it?" Glimmer asks. Khaleesi nods and lifts up her sleeve, and to my surprise, there it is. A tattoo of an Emerald on her right arm, just as Jack said. "Khaleesi, that's a tattoo! Do you know what this means?"

"Um, no."

"It means you are the princess of the crystallizers; it means you are not actually dead!" I say.

"Wait, I'm, I'm a Princess?" Khaleesi asks.

"Yes!" we all say at the same time.

"You are the right age, have the same tattoo as Kato, and you are a crystallizer!" Flamara says excitedly.

"Wait, so if Khaleesi is actually the princess, and was locked away, then someone staged her murder." Flamara says.

"Who would stage the murder of a princess, at such a young age?" Glimmer asks. Everyone thinks for a moment. "what about her brother?" Glimmer asks.

"They were 7 when it happened, he wouldn't be capable of pulling something off like that" Flamara says

"Or, what if Kato told someone to do it? He was old enough to have the idea." I say. Everyone is silent, thinking of the idea of a 7-year-old planning to kill his own twin sister. "But why is she still alive?"

"Maybe someone wanted her alive?" Glimmer says. "Khaleesi, what is your first memory you can remember?"

"Um, over a year ago a boy threw me into the room, and the same 4 guards have always given me food, calling me Khaleesi." she said. A year ago? that' s about when the strikers returned, and the war started.

"The Crystallizers started the war, right?" I ask.

"Um, sort of. After the Strikers where released we form an alliance with the crystallizers in case of an attack, and shortly after they attacked the natures and the Aquarians attacked us, the strikers stayed neutral. But my father has been talking to Queen Stella for months, trying to get her on our side." Flamara explained.

"Stella would never align with the Nature, she can't use them in any way." Jack said. "She knew she had to be tactical with her alliance, but she will probably never join a side if she doesn't get something in return."

"The young queen is smart" I say. "So if the two sides started the war, something must have happened before the attacks to start the war."

"But what?" Glimmer asks.

"I think I know something" Khaleesi said. "I haven't told you everything I know"
