We stared into each others' eyes for a while before breaking eye contact.

"Um..!"

She muttered out softly.

"W-Why did you.."

I stared into her crystal blue eyes.

(His eyes weren't cold like usual, considering his gaze upon Chelsea was full of adoration.)

Suddenly a dark crimson rose up and spread out all across my face. I could feel the heat, and I came to my senses.

"I.. Uh.."

A slightly awkward atmosphere arrived but neither of us could really speak. I looked away and reached for my hat.

Chelsea grabbed my hat before I could hide my face.

"Oh no, you don't. Don't hide your face from me!"

I stumbled over my words.

"H-Hey! Give it! You already stole it once before!"

She took my hat and held it behind her, above her head.

"N-No. W-Why did you kiss me?!"

"Because..!"

I reached forward for my hat, and accidentally fell on top of her. My hands were placed on the grass by the side of her head.

She let out a small "Oof" as she went back. She looked up at me and questioned me once again.

"B-Because what..?"

I looked at her with my face flushed with red and spoke up.

"Because... Because I love you! Isn't that obvious?!"

I felt like my heart would explode. I've never felt this way before.

I swallowed real hard, looked away, then glanced back at her.

She stared at me with her adorable red face, then smiled, beaming with delight. She laughed and hugged me.

"I love you too, Vaughn."

I pulled myself up, and laid back, pulling her on top of me. I wrapped my arms around her and nuzzled my face into her neck. Her hair fell onto my face, but I let it be.

Man.. She smells so good..

We laid there in silence, enjoying nothing more than the company of each other.

Not many people went to the meadow unless if it were for festivals, so it made a great place to be alone with someone.

I felt a soft, delicate hand grab mine. I glanced at my hand and smiled, seeing that Chels was holding my hand.

I wouldn't want it any other way..

I smiled and sighed contently.

"Hey Chels.. Would.. You.. Um.. Be my.. Girl..friend..? Er.."

I just screwed it up, dammit Vaughn, you're an idiot!
