Joe's POV
*Flashback*
"What do you mean there was a storm?!...Why was she out in the storm? Sir, please, she can't be gone sh-she just can't...We have a daughter, she's only 6 months and she needs her mother...I...yes I understand...Next week...Is there at least a body?...Okay, th-thank you." I hung up the phone and slid down the kitchen wall, letting the information sink in.
There was a storm...
It was so unexpected...
No known survivors...
I put my head in my hands and screamed.
"(Y/N)!" I cried. Our daughter started to cry moments later. I stood up quickly and ran to her crib. The little bundle of happiness that reflected her mother was rolling with her fists balled up. I probably woke her up...or maybe she missed her mother. I picked up our child and rocked her carefully.
"It's gonna be okay Penelope. You and me, we're gonna be fine on our own. We'll be okay." I mumbled. Her (E/C) eyes looked into mine as if they were searching for some type of hope. I doubt she would find any.
*Four Months Later*
Gibbs' POV
"Okay, four months ago a ship of Marines go missing during a storm. They are all presumed dead." I said with my hands in my pockets.
"If they're all dead from this crash, why is it our problem?" Abby asked.
"Because key word: presumed. There has recently been activity in Egypt where someone has toldme they've seen someone who fits a discription of one of the missing Marines."
"What's her name?" Ziva asked.
"(Y/N) Throhman She has a husband and a kid. Her daughter was just 6 months when her mother dissapeared." I explained.
"Her husband must have been devastated."
"Joseph Trohman. He visisters her empty grave almost every day."
"Well, if his wife is out there she should be found." Abby interjected.
"And that is why we're going to find her."
*1 week later*
Joe's POV
I sat on the couch watching Penelope grab on to the table as she tried to walk over to me.
"Come on baby girl. Come to daddy. I'll catch ya." I smiled. Penelope giggled and stumbled over where I picked her up.
"Good job 'Nelope! I'm so proud of you." I cheered kissing her cheek. She smiled, showing off gumbs. My phone began to ring and i grabbed it from my pocket.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Joseph Trohman?" A man's voice asked.
"This is him. May I ask who is speaking?"
"My name is Leroy Jethro Gibbs. We found your wife." My face fell as he said those last words.
"Th-that's impossible. She died!" I said raisingt my voice at the end.
"She was thought to be dead. She's been in Egypt this whole time." Gibbs explained.
"Why didn't she come home to me? To her daughter?"
"Your wife is in the hospital now if you'd like to come see her."
"I-I'll be there soon." I hung up the phone and saw Penelope watching me. I was lost for words so I repeated the same thing I said to her a 4 months ago.
"It's gonna be okay Penelope." I sighed.
*At The Hospital*
Joe's POV
I dropped Penelope off at Pete's house for the time being. If (Y/N) is in the hospital, I imagine she'd be in bad shape. Penelope doesn't have to see her mother like that. I walked to the front desk.
"I'm looking for (Y/N) Trohman." I stated.
"And what is your relationship?" The man asked.
"I'm her husband." After I was told the room number I took the stairs to give me more time to think. What if this wasn't her. What if they just identified the wrong woman? What if she doesn't remember me? Hell, what if she just doesn't want to be with me anymore. So much what if's ran through my head that I began to slow down. What if this isn't the same woman I fell in love with? I couldn't take it if my (Y/N) was gone forever.
But what if it is her?
That question was the only thing that made me walk to her room. I opened the door and saw her on the bed.
My beautiful wife.
I bit my lip and sat next to her bed. I grabbed her hand and ran my fingers over the skin.
"Hey sweetheart. It's been too damn long. I...I missed you so much." I started. I felt tears fill my eyes as I scanned her beautiful face. This all felt like a dream, but she was here.
"Penelope...she's gotten so big and you wouldn't believe me if I told you. She's just like you ya know. Its what made these past four months so hard. I had a little you running around the house. I'm...I'm so happy your home (Y/N)." I sobbed. I laid my head against her hand and let my tears fall on her hand.
"Joe?" I looked up and saw (Y/N)'s (E/C) eyes watching me.
"Yeah beautiful. It's me." I sniffled. She chuckled which turned into sobbs. I held her in my arms while we both cried. My wife was home.
To be continued...
