"Just exactly how many damned ninja came for us?" An infuriated old man snarled at the 6 of us.
Well, someone isn't in a good mood.
But I had a feeling that this guy hadn't ever been in a good mood since he popped out of his mothersー
I felt a nudge to my rib that snapped me out of my not-so-interesting thoughts.
I turned to face Sakura, who didn't look like she appreciated the old mans tone either.
"I bet you're really starting to regret coming on this mission now." She whispered, the look of regret plastered on her face instead of mine.
I wasn't really paying attention, to be honest.
I chuckled lightly at her comment and shrugged, "Aside from this grumpy old man, I'm sure this day will go well. Besides, he's the only one who is moody." I nodded towards the elderly woman beside the grumpy man.
I heard Sakura sigh, "I guess you're rightー"
"You two!" The mans shout interrupted our conversation, "Get your sorry asses over here and help me carry this luggage!"
I don't think I've met anyone this rude.
I slowly picked up the suitcase, and seeing that it had no handle gave me a feeling of uneasiness, since I wouldn't carry anything that was heavy.
But this time, it's different. It's my first mission in Konoha, and I don't want to disappoint any of my friends with this situation.
Especially Naruto, I can't disappoint him.
"Let me hold that." the familiar blonde hair appeared in front of me.
Without waiting for a response, he carefully took the suitcase out of my arms, our hands brushing against each other in the process.
Even the slightest touch from this idiot had an unhealthy effect on my heart.
Why...do I like him?
But, I saw that I wasn't the only one who was growing red, Narutos eyes had widened and he was staring at his hands, his cheeks reddening as the minute passes.
This confused me, "N...Naruto?" I called.
He perked up suddenly, his ocean blue eyes meeting mine, and then smiled.
"We should catch up with the others." He said, bringing the suitcase to above his shoulder blade like it was nothing.
So much for my efforts.
But...what was that just now? It almost felt like...
No, he said he didn't like anyone.
Even so, I still liked him.
And I was going to make him like me back.
(Flash forwards, brought to you byー you know what.)
"Absolutely not," I spat out harshly, in obvious disapproval of Sakura and Sasuke's plans.
