September 27th.
At work the next day, Lincoln was barely functioning. Last night had to be one of the roughest nights for her. She did not get any sleep what so ever."You look tired," Aspen looks at her before making another pot of coffee. Lincoln rubbed her eyes taking one of her medication. She drowned it with half a bottle of water.
"Yeah I didn't get any sleep last night and the bus was late this morning, It's just not a good start to the day." Lincoln sighs fixing her apron. Aspen pushed her red hair behind her ears.
"You need a break, why don't you go shopping or something of that sort. Go to the hair salon, pamper yourself." Aspen suggested. Lincoln laughed softly.
"I can't do that, I'm saving my money for a car. Besides I have to pay rent and Parker gets expensive."
Aspen looks at her, "Love, you can always window shop. You don't have to buy something when you go shopping. If the hair salon is too expensive go get your nails done, it's only $9 for a simple manicure." Aspen picked up the pot of coffee and went out front. Lincoln smoothed back her hair before walking to one of the tables to serve them.
"Hi, what can I get you?" Lincoln asks looking up to see it was two of the guys from yesterday. If she remembers their names correctly it was Niall and Louis? "Oh, you two again," She says to herself.
"You don't seem too happy to see us," Louis laughs looking at the menu.
"No, that's not it, thank you for the tip last time. " She says to them. Louis grins glancing to Niall.
"It was no problem at all, right Nialler?" Niall lets out a nervous laugh. He shrugs, his face turning bright red. Lincoln looks between the two of them confused. "Are you going to be coming to the concert tonight? You got the two tickets?" Louis asks her. Lincoln wiped her sweaty palm on the back of her pants. She didn't want to tell them she sold the tickets. She would feel bad about that since they were generous enough to give them to her.
"I can't." She says playing with the pen in her hand.
"Why not?" Louis inquires raising a brow any other person would be dropping everything to go to their concert especially if the tickets were free.
"I uh I lost them." She lied, then she wanted to retract that statement because the clerk's daughters would be at the concert in the same exact spot they had given her the tickets for.
"You lost them?" Louis repeats, Niall frowns telling Louis to leave her alone. "Oh shut up lover boy, I'm trying to help you out here since suddenly you don't know how to form words." Louis smirks watching Niall squirm under the spotlight being brought onto him.
"Uh do you guys want to order or not?" Lincoln asks getting impatient.
"Yeah I'll have the eggs benedict please with the hash brown on the side along with some coffee," Louis hands her the menu back.
"For you?" Lincoln looks to Niall.
"I'll have the strawberry French toast, scrambled eggs, sausages, and a glass of water." Niall lifted up the menu and handed it to her, their hands brushed slightly. Lincoln quickly pulled her hand back, taking the menu then the other one.
"Will that be all?"
"No, We insist on you coming to our concert tonight so Niall here will give you another set of two tickets." Louis looks at Niall, daring him to say otherwise.
Lincoln shook her head, he was really pushy.
"I have a son and I don't have a babysitter for him." Lincoln tries to explain to them. Louis smiles thinking he had the solution to that.
