October 1st. Monday

Today was Niall's last day in New York before the band headed to New Jersey for two days. Lincoln was bummed out in the morning because she had work and would not be able to hang out with Niall as much as she had hoped too.

Lincoln got dress for work, her mood already sour. She quickly detangled her unruly hair which was still semi-straight and placed it up into a high pony. "This will have to do for now," Lincoln mumbles to herself as she took a glance at herself in the mirror.

"Mommy?" Lincoln heard her baby boy call out for her. She stepped out of the bathroom, into the hall where Parker stood, rubbing his eyes.

"I'm here sweetie," Lincoln picked him up, kissing his head. "We have to get you ready for school darling," she whispered to him, rubbing his back to wake him up. Lincoln managed to get Parker dressed and fed before they had to head out the door for school.

Once Lincoln had dropped Parker off at school, she headed to the bus stop to catch the next one to her work. As she waited her phone started to ring. Lincoln glanced down at the caller I.D and saw that it was Niall calling her.

"Hey," she answers with a smile.

"Hey love, how are you this morning?" Niall's voice came through the other line. Lincoln could hear some movement on his end.

"I just dropped Parker off at school and now i'm on my way to work," She tells him, while keeping an eye out for the bus. "Did you just wake up?"

"Yeah, I have to start packing today. We have one more interview at noon, then we are off to New Jersey at 3." Niall explains to her.

"That's so soon," Lincoln sighs sadly. If Niall was leaving at 3, there was no way Parker would even get a chance to say goodbye to him.

"I know, they wanted to get us on the road as soon as possible," Niall began to throw his clothes into his suitcase. Lincoln pouts, thinking about Niall leaving. "I'm going to miss seeing your beautiful face everyday," Niall admits.

"Stop....you're making me blush." Lincoln giggles softly, looking around the bus stop.

"Then I'm doing my job correctly," Niall chuckles, closing his suitcase. Lincoln looked  down the road, spotting the bus coming towards the stop.

"I have to go now, the bus is here," Lincoln told her boyfriend. Niall nods although, Lincoln could not see him.

"Alright love, travel safely... love you,"

"I love you too," Lincoln lets out a breath as she hung up the phone, getting her boarding pass ready. When the bus came to a stop, she mounted it, giving the driver a small smile as she paid the fare.

It didn't take long for Lincoln to arrive at work. She walked into the small diner, greeting Debbie on her way to the back to hang up her coat and purse. Debbie watches Lincoln for a bit, a small smile forming on her face as she walked around the younger girl and went to the kitchen area of the diner.

"Well don't you look like a ray of sunshine," Aspen comments as Lincoln ties her apron around her waist.

"What?" Lincoln raises a brow as she looks at her co-worker.

"How was your weekend?" Aspen asks following Lincoln to the pantry to get out a few things for the muffins they make for the customers. Lincoln shrugs grabbing the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.

"It was fun, Niall took Parker and I to the city with the boys." Lincoln measured out the flour into the bowl along with everything else.

"Yeah? How was it?" Aspen cracked four eggs into the mixture and began combining everything. Lincoln smiled thinking about her time with Niall and Parker.

"It was enjoyable, Parker had a blast..." Lincoln distributes the batter into the muffin tins then takes the trays to the kitchen to the oven where Debbie and the main cook was.

"What are you chit chatting about," Debbie asked, making her way over to them. The two girls let out a giggle shaking their heads.

"We were talking about Lincoln finally finding herself a man," Aspen teases her. Lincoln took a rag, hitting Aspen with it.

"Hey!"

"Enough horsing around girls, get back to work," Debbie orders in an amused tone. Lincoln grabs her notepad and went out to wait on a table.

Around 11am, Lincoln took her lunch break. She sat at one of the bar stools with a cup of coffee.

"Guess who," someone whispers to her, covering her eyes. Lincoln smiles as she places her hand over the mystery person's large one.

"Niall?"  Niall chuckles uncovering her eyes. He cups her face placing a sweet, loving kiss on her lips. "Shouldn't you be on your way to the interview," Lincoln scolds him.

Niall chuckles, "Yeah, but I had to see you before we left for New Jersey." He tells her, stroking her cheek. "I have something for you," He tells her, revealing the small gift bag he brought.

"Niall, you know I don't like presents," Lincoln pouts taking the bag from him.

"I know, but I couldn't resist, plus you did sort of agree to this." Lincoln opened the bag pulling out the box.

"What is it?" She questions, but Niall does not tell her. He motions for her to open the box. Lincoln does as she is told, frowning sightly when she realized what it was. "Babe, you didn't have to get me a new phone," Lincoln took the iphone out pressing the home button.

"Yes, but you promised you wouldn't forget me and that we could skype or facetime," Niall reminds her. Lincoln nods, remembering that conversation.

"Fine, you win this time," Lincoln puts the phone down, "Thank you," she pecks his lips. Niall wraps his arms around her, nestling his face in her neck.

"I'm going to miss you so so much," Niall mumbles, keeping her close to his frame, "and little buddy."

"Well now that we can facetime, you can call us whenever you are on your break." Lincoln points out.  Niall stayed with Lincoln for another twenty minutes before she had to start her work again and he had to make his way to the interview.

Later that day Lincoln went to go pick up Parker from school after work.

"Did you have a good day at school today?" Lincoln asks the young boy, taking his bag from him. Parker nods his head really fast.

"Today I got to be the line leader and help the teacher!" Parker tells his mom, still hyped up from his day at school.

"That's good," Lincoln grabs his hand so they could cross the street.

"Mommy can we hang out with Niall today?" Parker asked his mom in a hopeful voice.

"Oh, baby...Niall is leaving for a few days...he won't be able to hang out with us." Lincoln tried to explain the situation to her son.

"But why, did we do something wrong? Does he not want to be my friend anymore?" Parker frowns, looking up at his mother, waiting for his questions to be answered.

"No, he loves us very much, but his job requires him to travel from place to place for a while." Lincoln told him, stopping once they reached the bus stop.

"That's not fair," Parker huffs, crossing his arms across his chest angrily.
