September 28.
In the morning Lincoln got up bright and early to pack Parker's lunch which was one of the lunchables. She also made a quick breakfast which was just some scrambled eggs and toast. While she waited for Parker to wake up, she made herself a cup of coffee. Once the time had changed to 7:00am, Lincoln walked down the hall to Parker's room. She pushed the door open, walking over to his bed."Baby boy you have to get up now," Lincoln rubbed Parker's back, watching him groan as he was starting to wake up. Parker opened his eyes, stretching as he looked up at Lincoln.
"Morning mommy," He yawns sitting up. Lincoln leads him into the bathroom, giving him a quick bath. Once he was dressed she ushered him into the room to eat his breakfast.
"Careful not to spill it on your clothes." Lincoln tells him. Parker nods, eating his eggs. While he was eating Lincoln got his school bag ready. As soon as she set the school bag on the counter her phone started ringing. She answered it after she glanced at the caller Id.
"Hey Niall," She greets him, looking at Parker, making sure he was eating his food.
"Hey, Good morning," he smiles into the phone, "So I'm about ten minutes from your place. I was thinking I could drive you to take Parker to school, then we could go on our date."
Lincoln shakes her head, smiling softly, "Well that's very thoughtful of you, thank you." She tells him, "You know the apartment number and floor, so just come up when you get here,"
Parker finished eating his food and got up coming to Lincoln, he tugged on her arm to get her attention.
"Looks like Parker wants to say good morning to you," Lincoln hands Parker the phone.
"Hi Niall!" Parker says with an animated smile on his face. He walked around the living room talking with him. Lincoln washed his plate and placed it in the cabinet. Parker was whispering things into the phone, hiding his mouth from his mom so she couldn't read his lips. Lincoln used the dish rag to dry the plates, turning her attention on Parker. Parker glanced at her and smiled, turning his face away from her. Lincoln shook her head, coming up behind him.
"Alright baby boy say goodbye to Niall, you'll see him in a little bit." Lincoln told Parker. Parker pouted saying bye to Niall and handed his mother the phone.
As soon as she got the phone Lincoln asked Niall the question, "What were you two talking about?" She heard Niall chuckle on the other end.
"I can't say," He smiled pulling into the parking garage of her building. "I've actually just arrived and I should be heading up to your floor now." He turned off the car, walking to the elevator in the garage. He pressed the button to her floor once he was inside.
"Okay, see you in a bit." She hung up the phone, walking to her room to freshen what little makeup she did apply to her face.
"Mommy! Niall's here!!" She heard Parker yell as she walked out of her room. Parker rushed to the door, looking at his mom, waiting for her to tell him he could open the door. Lincoln nodded her head at him. Parker grinned and unlocked the bolts, throwing the door open.
"Niall!" He shouts embracing the young lad around the leg. Niall smiles lifting Parker into his arms.
"Hey buddy, I missed you." He smiles wide. Lincoln watches the two interact with a small smile.
Parker laughs poking Niall on the cheek, "Silly we just talked on the phone. You're taking me to school right?" Parker asks. Niall nods his head yes. "Good!" Parker grins. Lincoln was a little curious as to why Parker was so adamant that Niall takes him to school. She'd have to ask him that later.
"Alright boys, we have to get going or else Parker will be late." Lincoln walks over to the pair, helping Parker into his jacket. Parker zipped up the jacket, holding his hand out for his school bag. Lincoln gave it to him, but held onto his lunch bag, along with her purse.
Niall waited for Lincoln to lock the door, before walking down the hall to the elevator. Niall continued to whisper a few things to Parker making him smile wide and nod his head fast.
"I hope you don't mind but I got one of those booster seats since I realized you didn't have one for him." Niall informs Lincoln as he buckles Parker into the child seat. Once he was done, he then opened the passenger side for her. Lincoln got in thanking him.
"Actually I don't mind, but you didn't have to buy one." She says, putting on her seatbelt. Niall got into the car, starting up.
"I didn't, my nephew is about the same age as Parker so I just used the one I had for him." He explains, pulling out of the parking garage. Lincoln rests her bag on her lap, folding her hands on top of it.
"So Parker, what is your favorite subject in school?" Niall asks making small conversation again.
Parker placed a finger on his chin, thinking long and hard about his answer. "Gym cause we get to play and run. I love running!" He smiles kicking his legs. Within ten minutes they had reached Parker's school. Lincoln went to open the door to get out, but Parker protested, begging her to stay in the car.
"I want Niall to take me, please mommy!" Parker looked at her, jetting his bottom lip out. Lincoln let out a sigh and agreed. Niall got out the car and got Parker out the back. He carried Parker's school bag and lunch bag in one hand, while holding Parker's hand in the other. Lincoln watched them from the car window. Honestly from an outsiders point of view, Niall looked like he was taking his son to school, but since she wasn't an outsider she dismissed that thought from her head. She knew who Parker's father was.
After dropping Parker off, Niall came jogging back to the car. He smiles as he gets in putting the car in drive.
"Where are we going?" Lincoln asks, curious as to where Niall was taking them on their date. Niall taps on the steering wheel glancing at her with a huge smile.
"Well...I saw an ad the other day for a request for volunteers at a animal shelter in Rockville center. I thought that would be a good idea because I found this really nice Irish bub/restaurant in the area called Cannon's Blackthorn."
The excitement on Niall's face as he talked about his plans for the day, made Lincoln gush. He was too adorable.
