Percy Jackson, New Beginnings

Chapter XXII

Hey, and yes this is an update, and yes I did read all the 'please update' comments on my previous chapter, but as you already know, I suck at updating, and know, after 4 gruelling months for you I have updated, and I hope this relatively short chapter invigorates you for the next one, which will come eventually. Hopefully sooner than later.

PERCY P.O.V.

We had defeated the army, well I had but who really cares, and now it seems, for at least a few minutes we have some time to ourselves. Wait. I think I am forgetting something, I sit down on the ground on all fours and think. We have just defeated the army, check. We saved Camp Half-blood, check. Everyone found out who I am, check. Wait a sec, that is not good, that is so not good...

My mind went on ranting in this fashion for the next few minutes until someone luckily found me, and this person was the only one that would be able to calm me down.

"Percy, what wrong?" asked Zoe, as she looked into my probably panicked eyes.

"Well, you know I just revealed myself to the whole camp, when they all apparently hate me, and not only that but they might tell the gods about me, and I could be exiled, or worse killed, and I would never get to see you guys again!" I gritted out, definitely panicking now. Zoe just chuckled and sat down next to me, her fingers absently running through my fur. I subconsciously leaned into her touch, craving for more.

"You need not worry so much little puppy. We all just need to gather the campers and give them the full story, and if they still decide to tell, we'll shoot them. As simple as that,"

I chuckled at the answer. Yes, that sounded like my sisters; shoot anyone that does not cooperate.

THIRD PERSON

"Well, we should probably go do that now, before they go blab their mouths"

Not even twenty minutes later the hunters had gathered all of the camper and made them sit in the arena. They all were watching as Artemis and I made our way into the middle of the group.

"You all are here to learn an important truth, something that has been kept from you and this needs to be rectified," Artemis started, and every just stared at her warily. What on earth could have happened that would make Artemis gather them here? If only they knew. "A well-known hero has been de-famed. There have been lies told about this person. He is a good man, and the only one that the hunters would ever trust with their lives. His name is Perseus Jackson."

The camp was in an uproar. This was the man that had betrayed the whole camp. He was the one that all they knew campers were told to hate.

"You mean to tell us that that wolf is actually Percy?" Jason snarled, glaring at the hunters.

"Yes, that he is," Artemis replied, narrowing her eyes at the blatant disrespect.

"You have been harbouring that traitor!" Xander cried, turning towards the hunters from his place in the front of the crowd. Annabeth who had woken up a mere hour ago sat behind him, nodding in agreement.

"Capture the traitor!" Was heard throughout the arena. The campers were slowly advancing upon Percy when he had finally decided that he had had enough.

"SHUT UP!!!" He cried, and transformed out of his wolf form and back to his human form, in which he stood tall and intimidating, staring down anyone who decided to get too close. "I suggest that you all sit down and listen to what I have to say, before you decide to make and rash decisions, you idiots!" The power in his voice made it impossible for any to disobey him. They all sat down and stayed in their seats, but glares were still getting thrown at him,. Percy, while not pleased, seemed satisfied enough to go on. "Now that you all have decided to stop acting like morons, let me tell you some very important things. First of all, you all seem to forget that I have a very big fatal flaw, and that would be loyalty. So if I find a cause worth fighting for, which would be to rid the world of evil, then I will do it, and STICK to it. This mean that I cannot possibly betrayed any one of you because that is who I am, and who I will always be. If you were so thick to possibly forget that, then well, there is no hope left for you. And secondly, I have a little fact for all of you. Your new precious little leader is just a big fraud. He is a phony and even more of a seaweed brain than me. He has blamed every single problem that has occurred in this camp, on ME. I haven't done anything, and you have condemned and INNOCENT man, and stood behind a guilty one, you should all be ashamed of yourselves. Thirdly, if you go blabbing to ANYONE about this, my sister have arrows that they are not afraid to plant in your backside, no matter the gender, so WATCH OUT!" Percy had finished his tirade, and looked over at all of the camper's faces. Some were shocked, while others were pensive, while they mulled over his words. Only a few looked angry and some other looked ashamed. The minute amount of people who knew looked smug as if they were trying to say without words, that they were right and Percy was innocent, and that everyone that thought otherwise were idiots.
The amount of power that Percy had used while delivering his speech was extraordinary, and everyone knew that they should definitely not cross this demigod that had just saved their entire camp from pure destruction. A silent agreement was made through the camp. Percy was to be thought of as innocent, and no one was going to tell the gods.

The rest of the might went on smoothly, people coming up and apologising for their actions, and Percy, being person, accepting their apologies and dishing out forgiveness on a silver platter, no one notice the two angry faces still among the crowd. Annabeth and Xander just watch the proceedings with loathing, vowing on the River Styx herself, that they were going to destroy Percy if it was the last thing they were going t do, and at this moment, the way to accelerate their plans, was to tell the gods that they knew exactly where Perseus was hiding.
