PERCY P.O.V.
The huntresses have finally accepted me, even if they don't know who I am. This makes me happy as I can now hang out with them without getting skewered. After a few days, I realised that I could speak in my wolf form; I sounded like a human but lower and more husky than usual. Tonight, everyone was sitting around the fire because I told them that I wanted to tell them a story.
Slowly they gathered around the fire, shooting me confused glances. I rolled up from my comfortable position and sat like any other dog would, right at the front. Artemis had shown up as well and she looked as confused as the rest of them.
"I am going to tell you a story about a simple demigod. There was nothing special about him but he didn't mind the least," I looked up at Artemis only to see a look of realisation dawn on her face. I was going to tell them the story of my life.
"His name was Percy Jackson," I was about to continue but a voice called through the crowd,
"Who's Percy Jackson?" I stared at her in shock. I was surprised she didn't know me. Everyone knew me, even if they did forget me and betray me, they knew who I was.
"I will tell you his story and then you will know," I started at the very beginning, the retrieving of the master bolt. I told them everything every quest and every feeling. I told them about taking the sky from Artemis (receiving a look of gratitude from Artemis, hidden from the hunters because they didn't know it was me I was talking about) and the prophecies. I finished with the defeating of Gaia before stopping.
"Why didn't we know of him?" A young hunter asked. She was about eight, I walked up to her and nuzzled my face into my hand before I continued.
"I am curious about this also. I would think the older campers like Phoebe and Thalia would tell you, and Artemis too. Percy Jackson was the only male she respected. So tell me, why hasn't this young hunter heard of Percy?" they looked at me with glaring eyes, all except Artemis. She just looked away in shame.
"We didn't tell them about him because of what he did next, or do you not know?" Thalia growled at me. I was surprised, last I remembered Thalia was still my friend.
"Why don't you enlighten me? Last time I met Perseus he told me that you, Nico, Jason and Leo were the only friends that he had left, what happened after he left?"
"Everyone was looking for Percy after he disappeared. Then one day Xander runs over to Chiron and tells him that when he was searching his cabin for signs of his brother he found plans about how to betray the camp. Chiron told the gods and they said that if he ever showed his face again, he will be sentenced to death for treason." I sat there shocked. Thalia just told me something that I myself had not heard. Then anger boiled up inside me.
"Do you remember what his fatal flaw was?" I asked in a dangerously calm voice.
"Loyalty,"
"THEN TELL ME HOW IN HADES NAME DID HE BETRAY YOU. IF YOUR FATAL FLAW IS LOYALTY, IT IS PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO BETRAY YOUR FAMILY!!!" I barked. Thalia stood there and looked at me in surprise. I was usually a very quiet wolf, that this sudden outburst was very unlike me.
-Artemis, can I tell Thalia who I am? I need to hear the whole truth, because when I left she was one of my only friends- she responded with a curt nod.
"Everyone listen up!" I shouted over the crowd. "Storytime is over. Head back to your tent. Thalia, stay behind," everyone followed my orders and Artemis too left. Now only Thalia was left. "Thalia," I said in a more gentle tone. "Why did you think Percy betrayed you? When he left he stayed with me for a few days and he told me that you were one of his last friends, so what made you change your mind?"
"Xander told the camp that Percy was plotting against Olympus. I didn't believe him at first but when they went to search his cabin, they found battle plans against Olympus. There were notes on it written in his handwriting, but for some reason, no one could decipher what they said. I know it off by heart and am trying to work it out. Percy is now a fugitive of the gods and is to be killed on sight."
I stared at her in shock. Those plans under my bed were mine but I had stolen them from an enemy base. The notes were in a language for some reason only I could write and read. I couldn't work out how I wrote like that but it came naturally just like Greek and Latin.
"Do you know who I am?"
"You're Alpha, a wolf blessed by Poseidon, thousands of years old,"
"Hahaha! You think that is me? Have you ever heard of a wolf blessed by Poseidon? It is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! I don't know how Artemis came up with it, but it serves its purpose. I am going to tell you who I am Thalia but you must swear on the Styx not to tell anyone,"
"I swear on the Styx to not tell anyone Alpha's true identity" she looked confused and as the thunder rumbled sealing the oath, I took a deep breath and shifted back into my human form.
"Well, I really needed a stretch. I haven't left my wolf from in 2 weeks!"
She stared at me wide-eyed. Then her eyes turned to a look of hatred.
"What are you doing here?! You betrayed Olympus!"
I winced at the thought.
"Thalia my fatal flaw is loyalty, even if you all left me and betrayed me I would never do anything to hurt or betray anyone. The explanation for the plans is that I stole them from an enemy camp and was examining them. The notes are actually marking the weak points and how we could improve our defenses if they ever decided to act. I swear on the River Styx that what I say is true. I could never betray you,"
She looked at me closely, as of she was examining my every move. She stared into my eyes and suddenly lunged at me. I was surprised when that lunge turned into a hug.
"I'm so sorry I didn't stick with you. I should have known you would never betray us but all of a sudden you just disappeared! It was the only thing that made sense," she said while still hugging me. I hugged her back.
"I left because Annabeth cheated on me and the whole camp turned against me. The only friends I had left were you, Nico, Jason, and Leo. Do they think I am a traitor now too?"
Thalia looked at me with shame and them sympathy.
"Jason and Leo do, but Nico was the only one who stuck by you. We are so sorry,"
"Don't worry I forgive you guys. Now, go get some rest," I said, shifting back to my wolf form. She just nodded and left.
