Percy Jackson, New Beginnings

Chapter XV

It's now been a week since we came to camp. Most of it has been good but Annabeth has really been annoying me. I had to start sticking to my sisters like glue. They seemed to deter her a little bit because they all knew what she did to me. I just loved to see her confused face, when they treated her like they treated most boys. I was very thankful because I really did not want to find out who I was, for that would mean I would be driven out again.

There was another downside. I was stuck in my wolf form, and it was getting really cramped. I needed a stretch back into my human body, but with so many people around I would be dangerous.

"Alpha hey, wait up!" I heard someone shout from behind me. I turned my head and saw Grover running towards me. At first, people questioned why I was hanging out with him until we came up with a clever lie, I was a protector of nature so we naturally got along well, and most people bought it because it was the truth. They just didn't know all the details.

"Hey, G-man!" I said.

We talked for a bit, catching up on the things he hadn't told me yet. One thing made my blood boil more than the rest.

"Xander and Annabeth have been running this place with an iron fist. They are so mean to everyone and all the new demigods are scared of them and are not getting the experience that they should," he said, and I lost all control of my emotions. I turned sharply in the paws and sprinted back to the campsite.

"ANNABETH, XANDER! GET YOUR MANGY BUTTS OVER HERE NOW!!!" I howled. People came out of there cabins, wondering what the Hades was going on. The hunters practically ran, excited with the thought of what was about to happen.

Xander and Annabeth slowly walked up to me.

"What do YOU want?" she sneered. I growled at her and she backed up slightly. I had released all of my wolf self, revealing some of the feral bits that lay deep down.

"You haven't been very good at this camp have you?" I asked them. They just scoffed and said that they were the best thing to have ever happened to the camp. I then turned my attention to the campers behind them. "Which of you think they have been useful to this camp?" I growled out and only about 10 of the 100 campers assembled raised their hands.

"EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T RAISE THEIR HAND IS GETTING PUNISHED!" Xander screeched out into the crowd and about 80 more raised their arms. I looked at the 10 who didn't. They consisted of, the Stolls, Clarrise, Will, Grover, Nico, Katie, Piper, Leo, and Jason.  I was happy that they hadn't been scared into following the most stupid orders anyone could ever think of.
"You are just so full of yourselves!" I snarl at them.

"And what are you going to do about it, dog," at this, I lost it. I vision turned red and I lunged myself at them. They tried to run, but nothing gets out of my paws. I bit both of them and clawed them till they were just bloody lumps on the ground.

"Take them to the infirmary," I told an Apollo camper. I may hate them but I don't kill in cold blood.

"Leo Valdez, Jason Grace, you two are now the leaders. Do not abuse your privileges or you will end up like them," I told them and they nodded and ran off to inform Chiron about what just transpired.  I padded back to the hunters and they all had identical evil grins on their faces.

"Those two totally deserved that!" said Thalia.

"Totally!" Phoebe agreed. "That was awesome Alpha!" she shouted. And I grinned as best I could as a wolf.

"Why thank you!" Then I noticed Zoe.

"That was amazing Alpha, you did well," she told me gently and I felt my heart skip a few beats. She really was amazing, and I couldn't get her out of my head. She was sweet and kind, but could also kick ass if she wanted to, easily.

Once the group had disbanded it was only me and Zoe left. "Do you want to go for a walk?" Zoe asked me and I nodded. We walked into the forest until we were in a nice secluded area. Here, I turned back into a human.

"There! That's better, I've been needing to crack some things for a while!" I said as I cracked my back, neck, and several of my other fingers. Zoe laughed at this and Oh My Gods! Her laugh was angelic.

We spent the next few hours just chatting about anything and everything and not once feeling awkward. Just by the end, she kissed me on the cheek and said goodnight, I just stood there shocked, not believing what had just.

THIRD PERSON

In the distance someone watched the whole afternoon Zoe and Percy spent together and when Zoe kissed him on the cheek, the figure smirked. Her plan was working. If she could just get them alone again, then maybe they will finally get the happiness they deserve. And with that, she turned her silver eyes away from the sight... for now...
