The silver flash of light faded and I  was suddenly standing in the middle of the hunters' campsite. I looked around nervously, knowing how much they love to kill boys or at least brutally maim them, hopefully, there were none of them hiding in the bushes somewhere. I looked over at Artemis who had a reassuring look on her face that said don't be such a baby, they won't kill you... yet. Then I realised that I still didn't know what I was doing here, and also, there were no hunters around.
"So what is going to happen now? Where are all the hunters? Why do I feel different? You smell like the moon, woah! Did I just say that?"
"Did you just say I smelt like the moon?" she asked, looking warily over at me. I didn't trust myself to speak so I just nodded. "The fates really must hate you," she mumbled to herself. "You are an amazing hero, why would they do this to you?" she looked very frustrated right now.

"What do you mean?" I said slowly. She sighed and stared up at me with her silver eyes.
"I believe you have been bitten by a wolf. Even worse it was a wolf spirit. You are lucky you survived. Most people die because they do not have a pure enough spirit to survive the poison. Unfortunately for you, you are now even more powerful than before meaning the gods might want to destroy you," she sighed and I just stared at her, with my mouth open.
"So you're saying that I'm a werewolf now and  because of this I have become so much stronger and the gods might kill me?" I asked, still completely shocked, not having processed the 'killing'part yet.
"It seems so," Artemis said, with a thoughtful look on her face. "How would you like to be the guardian of the hunt?" she asked.
"Me? But I'm male, I wouldn't think you would want me close to the huntresses?"
"You Perseus, are the most respectable male I know. You are the only one on this planet that I can actually tolerate so yes, I want you to be their guardian," she said, with fierce determination. I looked at her, too stunned for words so I just nodded and Artemis walked closer to me. "I, Phoebe Artemis, goddess of the moon and the hunt, hereby bless Perseus Jackson, the new Guardian of the Huntresses!" A bright light encased me for the third time that night. I felt a surge of power course through my veins. I could feel the moon on my back and as the massive wave of energy left me I was left standing in the camp, with Artemis in front of me. I then realised that something else was wrong. I was no longer in a human form. From what if felt life, I was a wolf. I walked around in a circle and tried to catch my tail. At this Artemis chuckled. I bounded off to find a puddle to see what I looked like. When I did make it to a puddle I was amazed. I was a jet black wolf with sea green eyes. I had a white trident mark on my shoulder. I was beautiful. After a few minutes of admiring myself, I went back to the campsite, only to be surprised by all 30 or so huntresses sitting around a fire. They saw me and must have mistaken me as a monster since one of them loaded an arrow and let it fly before I could react. It lodged itself in my lower back and I collapsed to the ground. Before everything went black I could remember Artemis shouting at her hunter and picking up my limp wolf form and taking me to her tent. Then I fell into a blackness.
