Listen to me
I gasped as my eyes met the darkness of my bedroom. A voice was calling to me.
Please
"Who's there?" I asked quietly, heart hammering away in my chest with fear. My eyes were still adjusting to the darkness. I could barely make out anything. My room was on the second floor. Who could possible be in here?
Get away
"Who are you?" I tried a little higher. Maybe this was all some sort of twisted nightmare? A gentle breeze startled me and I turned my head. Both of my windows were wide open. I didn't remember opening them before going to bed and I never slept with the windows wide open. Never.
I need...
I got out of bed and walked over to the windows and looked out. No one was in my room and nobody was out on the streets. So where was that voice coming from? I shut the windows and dragged the curtains back in front of them. This was beyond creepy.
A shadow moving to my left made turn around, making my heart speed up just as it had settled into a normal pace again. I quickly turned around but my room was still just as empty as it had been a few moments ago.
I need your blood...!
The voice growled loudly, sounding like it was right beside me now. I held my breath and slowly turned my head to the right. A pair of large angry red eyes were staring down at me. A startled gasp escaped my lips and I tried to back away but a large hand clasped painfully around my arm and dragged me closer. "Let go!" I yelled and desperately tried to break free. If this was a nightmare I really wanted to wake up.
Your blood...
They eyes gazed at me with hunger. It opened its mouth, revealing a large set of sharp teeth. It moved closer and I could feel it's breath on my neck, the teeth gently scraping at my skin. "No..!" I tried to pull back with all my might but it was useless. It held me in such a strong grip that moving was near impossible. It stopped moving its teeth and held still for a few terrifying seconds. "I'll scream..." I found myself threatening it. Internally I was screaming at myself to wake up. A dark chuckle escaped from it.
Please do... That makes it so much more exciting!
The sharp teeth pierced my skin and the pain that shot through my body was so agonizing I felt myself almost pass out. This wasn't a dream. It was real. Someone was in my room, assaulting me. I opened my mouth for air, but instead a scream ripped itself out from my throat. The feeling of something being drained from me was making me dizzy and nauseous. I clawed and trashed trying to get away. Another scream tore itself from me.
Yes... Yes!
My conscience was slowly slipping away but I could still hear the sound of the teeth ripping at my flesh, blood splattering to the floor. "Stop... please..." I moaned weakly. The surroundings was swirling. The last thing I remember hearing before it all went black, was someone yelling angrily and a scream that didn't belong to me.
I had no idea for how long I was floating in the darkness, but the next thing I remembered was hearing my mother's frantic voice. "Honey... Please wake up! Come on, sweetie." I got the feeling I was being shaken and I managed to crack open an eyelid. My mom was standing over me with tears streaming down her face.
"Mom, what's wrong?" I found myself asking, though I was surprised to hear how hoarse my voice was. It felt like I had dreamt the most realistic nightmare ever, but why would my voice be hoarse? Was I getting sick or something? My thoughts were interrupted by my mom's sudden hug. "I heard you scream but the door to your room was locked. I couldn't get in and when I finally managed to find a spare key to your door everything had gone silent. You were passed out on the floor when I found you." She stroked her hand over my head, still holding me in a hug. I, on the other hand, felt a sudden dread. It meant that last night hadn't been a dream. But what about all the blood and the wound that creature caused?
