(A/N You guys have to excuse this lame description of the place these guys live in. I'm not from New York :P I'll probably edit this when I get more accurate info.)
[Hey! It's Claire. Do you wanna meet up by the school at 1 p.m and take it from there? :) ]
[Sure, I'll be there :) ]
There was a big smile on my face as I approached the school. I'd asked Yvonne to meet me there as it was a place we both knew. Didn't want to make things complicated by asking her to meet me at a place she had no clue about. I really looked forward to spending the day with her. It had been a while since I had really connected with anyone other than Ashley and Skylar. It would be nice if we could really become friends.
There wasn't exactly much to see around our immediate neighborhood. It pretty much was just a typical normal suburban place to live. Though there was a pretty big mall not far from here. I figured that was the place to hang out at first. Other than that there were also a couple of shops that I wanted to show her that were my personal favorites.
I still didn't know a whole lot about Yvonne, but hopefully she would like the places I wanted to bring her to. I also had to remind myself that this was a day where we were going to relax. I had to stop planning how every minute of the hour was going to go.
'Hey, Claire!' I snapped out of my daze and turned on my head to see Yvonne standing by the gates of the school, waving at me.
'Yvonne! Sorry, am I late?' I apologized with a small smile as I walked over to her. She shook her head.
'No, you're right on time. I just like to be early.' She grinned.
'So, what kind of amazing places are we going to today?' She continued, looking genuinely curious.
'Well, if you're expecting Times Square, then I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you.' Yvonne faked a pout at my words.
'And here I was expecting to see the Statue of Liberty.' I chuckled.
'That would be a trip for a whole weekend.'
'Hm, maybe some other time then. Well, then. Where are you taking me today?' Yvonne beamed at me.
'We do have a pretty big mall not far from here and there are a few shops I want to show you.'
'Great, lead the way!'
Walking to the mall took about 25 minutes but the weather couldn't be more perfect for a day out. Sunny and the temperature wasn't half bad for autumn. We kind of talked about everything on the way. From her interests to mine.
I found out that she loves to draw and aspire to be an artist. She even promised to show me a few of her paintings sometime. I also found out that this is the fifth high school she was attending in the span of two years. It was all due to her parents transferring a lot in their jobs.
'Still, five times sounds a bit excessive.' I frowned. I couldn't imagine how that must be. To finally think you're settling down, only to be uprooted almost immediately.
'You do get used to it eventually. It was like this in middle school as well. I tried to object several times but to no avail. I'm really hoping we can stay here for a while now. I like this place. I'm surprised how quickly I got some friends. Usually I'm the outsider who no one wants to be friends with.' Yvonne halfheartedly joked and I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
Who wouldn't want to friends with this charming, intelligent and beautiful girl? People could really be unbelievable sometimes.
