To say I felt dizzy when I woke up was an understatement. The whole world seemed to spin around before it eventually started to settle down. It was replaced by the feeling of confusion instead. The sun was shining in from my window and I was clearly in my bed.
Had last night just been a horrible nightmare? It hadn't felt like it. I carefully sat up in my bed and silently groaned. My body felt like it had taken quite the beating. That dream had to be real, just like the others had been.
'Thank god you're awake!' A small scream of panic escaped me as I whirled around to my right and came face to face with a relieved Yvonne. Yeah, it was definitely real.
'I'm sorry. You just startled me.' I quickly apologized. She let out a pearly laughter.
'Then I'm the one who should be apologizing. Anyways, it's great to see that you are relatively unharmed. How are you feeling?' She asked and gently sat down beside me on the bed.
'I feel fine, a little sore and probably a bit bruised as well. It does feel like my arm's kinda twisted after that guy yanked it last night.' I rolled my shoulder, probably not twisted. It was just hurting a lot.
'Dammit, he really did a number on you. I'm sorry I couldn't get here any faster.' Yvonne said through gritted teeth as she bent forward to examine me. I could almost feel my heart skip a beat at the close proximity and somehow it made the tiniest smirk appear on her lips before it was replaced by another frown of worry.
'I'm surprised you came at all. How did you even know my address?' I found myself asking her curiously. I couldn't remember giving it to her, though I felt really relieved that she had made it in time. I feared that Aiden would've killed me otherwise. Yvonne moved a bit away from me and I already missed the close proximity.
'I called Bethany and asked her. I told her you had forgotten some important homework and that I wanted to deliver it to you.' She sheepishly replied.
'Thanks.' I gave her my most grateful smile and she beamed back.
'Anytime.' Then I noticed that something was still slightly off about her.
I furrowed my brows in confusion before the smallest gasp escaped my lips. Her eyes! They were still blood red! Yvonne's expression immediately fell when she realized what I was looking at. She avoided my gaze and looked down at the wooden floor.
'I figured the cat was out of the bag, so I didn't bother hiding them. I had not idea the secret would be out this fast.' She looked back up at me with a worried expression, her eyes still a deep red color. Somehow it wasn't as surprising as it probably should have been and Yvonne seemed to sense that.
'Why does your expression tell me that you sorta knew about it?' I gently bit my lower lip before slowly getting out of bed. I walked over to my backpack and rummaged around for my camera. I quickly turned it on and walked back towards her.
'Because of these two pictures that I took. The first one I thought you had just walked out of the frame, but the second one really made me question it. Also the way you reacted back at school when you saw my bruises. You had seen it before.' Yvonne's eyes widened as her eyes scanned the picture that was supposed to be of her but was instead of a floating pamphlet.
'I thought I was being careful. Clearly I'm slipping up.' She let out a big sigh.
'Now I'm kinda guessing you have lot of questions you want to ask?'
