Luke left Calum's office that day thinking about the boy who eyes looked like holes. It's been 2 days now since they have spoken and he still feels Calum's gaze on his eyes, he still can smell the aroma of his cologne and mint gum he had that day. He still feels how they're hand brushed a bit when Calum handed him the paperwork, it was just a slight touch but it burned Luke's skin.
Luke sighed and decided to call Calum. His excuse the case, obviously. He didn't was him to now about how weird he feels about him or how he at random times a day he thinks of him in a fond loving way. Plus Calum probably just wants a professional relationship nothing more nothing less.
He sighed and grabbed his phone dialing his number. He waited just for a bit and then Calum's sweet deep voice rang on the other end.
"Hey, Luke" he greeted and he heard him sigh, stressfully.
"How are you? You seem sad or worked up? You okay?" He asked and he could feel Calum's eyes crinkle and smile, but maybe that's just him.
"I-i'm at work and I have lots of thing to do" Calum said and Luke knew since the days they have been together Luke somehow has memorized how his voice sounded in every different occasion, wether he is sad, mad, busy, hungry and many more he didn't know why he just knew when something was up.
"Want me to stop by with some coffee I can help you?" He bit his lip in anticipation and he really didn't know where that came from or what was his real motive, He guessed he really wanted to be with Calum.
"You sure? I don't want you to stop what you're doing, i-its fine"
"No I'm okay, and I'm not really doing anything and I want to help you"
"Okay, i'll text you my order" Calum said laughing a bit. They said their 'see you laters' and ended the call.
Luke went to his near by coffee shop and bought Calum's order. Black coffee, boring. And Luke being Luke ordered some cute caramel-y flavored drink.
He walked confidently, Luke just felt good. Like he just unlocked some sort of new level between Calum and his relationship, I mean he already know his coffee order, many can't say that.
He entered the firm and noticed it was empty and the lighting was dim. He wondered around until he found a slight light coming from the conference room. He knocked slowly and heard Calum's voice to come in.
When he entered and what he say was a lot. He saw paper all over the wide and big wooden table, he saw 5 cups of coffee all empty, crumbled pieces of sheet all over the floor and table and then he saw a beautiful mess. He saw Calum with his messy unruly curls falling onto his forehead, sleeves of his shirt rolled up making the tattoos on his defined arms show just a tad and his eyes were droopy and filled with stress and somehow he still managed to look perfect.
Luke let his wonder a bit until his gaze landed on Calum's eyes. Of course he got pulled in, he sunk onto the holes that were Calum's deep mahogany colored eyes.
"I-i brought your coffee, but I'm guessing you've had enough" He said still his eyes staring at Calums not daring to look away.
Calum looked at the scenery that he has made and gave Luke a shy smile "Y-yeah I just needed a boost"
Luke hummed in response and tip-toed over the paper afraid he might step on an important one.
"What's this case about?" He asked sipping on his caramel something something drink.
"It's my first criminal case" He turned around and sat down next to Luke grabbing his coffee and taking a huge gulp of the black coffee without flinching.
"I can't believe you like black coffee, god it taste horrible" Luke grimaced in disgust and gulped his drink.
"Maybe you just can't take it" Calum joked smirking and Luke's eyes widen and eyebrows arched.
"I can so take black coffee, is just that the taste not the best" Luke retorted and Calum just smiled mischief evident in his expression.
"Fine... take a big ass gulp without flinching or making a weird face" Calum dared Luke and Luke just loved this playful side of Calum. He's only seen firm and neat Calum but now that he has seen him like this all he wants to do now is bring him coffee and play a low-key truth or dare with him.
"I so can do that" Luke said like a 5 year old and he did. He took a huge swing from Calums coffee and god it tasted foul he tried his best not to flinch but taste is horrible. Once he gulped it down completely Calum was laughing and Luke was too. Their laughed echoed around the empty office and no one cared it was just them laughing at Luke stupid attempt to win a dare.
"Okay what do I owe you" Luke said dying down his giggle fit. Calum looked confused, He tilted his head to the side and frowned.
"I lost the bet now what do I owe you" Luke clarified and Calum just grinned and thought. He pressed his index finger to his chin in a joking manner.
"You need to stop calling me 'mom' " He said raising an eyebrow as Luke seemed unfazed.
"Fine i'll stop calling you mom if you go to diner with me sometime, as a date"
"I don't date" Calum said looking at his shoes and to the floor "I have a daughter and that's why I don't date"
"Okay, mom"
