They arrived to the picnic and everything was so pleasant and summer like. Colorful blankets with food and married couples from his mothers neighborhood were sitting enjoying the beautiful and humid day.

"Calum!" he heard his mothers voice as she waved her hands in the air so he can see her.

"Mom" he said slightly embarrassed since she was literally screaming like foolish person "I can see you", me muttered as Luke was laughing at Calum's face.

He felt Lily tear her secure grip of his hand and towards her grandma in a fit of giggles screaming "Gradma that's Lukey! Daddy's crush"

And that made him blush and mutter "Lily lower your voice, Jesus". He honestly felt embarrassed, his mom was being a dork, Lily was being loud and now all of his moms neighbors know that Calum likes Luke.

"Oh c'mon, babe, don't be embarrassed, I already know you like me" Luke said sneaking his around the other boys waist and pressed his lips close to Calum's sweet spot.

And of course this made Calum even more flushed and flustered, so his face was very red.

"So, Cally, this is...?" Joy asked quirking a eyebrow while Lily was behind her leg giggling.

"This is Luke, Luke this is my mom, Joy" he said gesturing to his mom who had the biggest smirk on her face.

"Hello, Mrs. Hood, a pleasure meeting you" Luke said smiling seeing that she looked just like Calum.

"You're being too kind, call me Joy" She said smiling as well.

"Daddy! Take me to the cotton candies!" Lily said jumping up and down "Please" she pouted and dragging the 'e'.

"Lily, Luke will take you, I need to talk to your Dad for a bit" Joy said patting her head, nodding towards Luke to take as Calum was in the sidelines way confused.

"Come, Lil" Luke said confused as well and took Lily's hand in his and walked over the huge line for cotton candy.

Joy smiled by how gentle he was towards Luke, and how Lily really liked him. Calum cleared his throat making Joy's attention shift towards him.

"Calum, Calum" She tsked and as her smirk returned to her expressions.

"What is it? It's fine if you don't like him, ok?, But I do and he is really, really good with Lily and– and" Calum rambled and rambled as Joy cut him short of his speech.

"I like him" she said smiling fondly and watchingas Calum worried face contorted to a happy one, smiling widely and his eyes crinkling.

"Oh thank god! because I– I was worried you wouldn't because I knoe how much you loved Camellia and– and you said no one could top her and I was so so worried and nervous—"

"Have you guys fucked?" she asked calmly and collected as Calum chocked on air and his eyes widen in horror.

"Wha– Mom! What?!" he said in absolute shock.

"Have you guys haf sex, fucked?" she repeated a little but slower just so Calum could comprehend if he didn't last time.

"Um no?" He said truthfully, He and Luke the most sexual thing that they have done is that makeout they had in his office.

"Well you should, You want me to take care of her? I know you could be a bit loud" She said actually meaning it, as Calum just protested saying no but all that Joy heard was 'Please!'.

"I cant believe you sometimes, mom"

"Daddy! Luke took me to play some games! I had so much fun Dad!" Liky said excited holding her now finished cone of cotton candy as Luke was laughing behind her.

"I thought I would take her, so you guys could talk and stuff" Luke said looking at Calum then at Joy. He could sense some sort of tension from Calum but not from Joy, and that confused him.

"Thank you, Luke, that was so nice of you" Joy commented wiggling her eyebrows at Calum and Calum just lowered his head blushing.

Luke noticed but decided not to say anything "Uh– my pleasure" he said chuckling.

After that really awkward tension happened, they group decided to walk around and talk to the neighbors they knew and look around at the games and little wild flowers around the area.

They talked and walked, Lily played with some kids from around there, Calum won her a teddy dolphin she wanted so badly.

"It's getting a little dark" Joy commented as the sky was turning a beautiful purple blue color.

"Yeah... We should get going" Calum said giving a whinning Lily a stert sympathetic look and grabbing her small gentle hands that gripped Dax, the dolphins name, like her life depended on it.

"No No, Lily is staying with me" Joy said and Lily's eyes lit up with happiness and jumped up and down.

"Really?!" Lily asked with such excitement.

"Yes, Lil, it's gonna be a slumber party! just you and me" Joy said a smirk on her face.

Calum just rolled his eyes and scoffed. He couldn't believe that his mother was really doing this to him.

"Well say goodbye to Daddy" Joy said as Lily hugged his legs and stood on her tippy toes and kissed Calum's cheek and whispered a 'Goodbye, Daddy'.

"Bye, Cally, Luke! Have fun!" Joy said mischief evident in her voice.

Calum just rolled his eyes one more time and turned around and stumbled with Luke eating cotton candy with a smile.

"This cotton candy is 10/10, Mom" He said taking a huge bite and munching on it.
