10 years later
It was typical Sunday in the Hemmings-Hood residence. Luke was making his famous strawberry and chocolate pancakes and Calum was finished some cases. Lily was getting ready for her soccer team and Danielle was on her way.
"Lilypad!" Luke yelled as he finished flipping the last pancake.
"Papa, don't rush me, I need my time!" Lily yelled back running down the stairs with her cleats in one hand and her phone on the other.
"No running down—" Calum started as Lily mimicking the rest.
"Dad, I know the rules" Lily rolled her eyes as she picked up a plate and served herself a few of pancakes adding little syrup and butter on top.
"If you knoe the rules why do you break them, huh?" Calum sassed back and wrapped his arms on Luke's waist as he finished doing the dishes.
"Dad, Papa, do you mind if I stay over at Danielle's tonight?" Lily asked with her mouthful.
"What do you think Lukey?" Calum asked as his cheeks as pressed against Luke's shoulder.
"I think it's fine, as long her parents are there, obviously" Luke said drying his hands on his thighs and kissed Calum's nose.
"Sooo. . . can I go?" Lily asked raising her eyebrows.
"Yes, you may, don't stay out too late you knoe you have try outs on Monday" Calum said as he and Luke all sat in the table waiting for Danielle to come.
And just on time, they all hear the door bell and Lily quickly got up and let Danielle in. Lily hugged her and kissed her softly as Danielle smiled into the kiss and her hands went to her waist.
Calum let out a fake cough as they pulled away Danielle blushed and Lily just rolled her eyes for the 5th time this morning.
"Morning" Danielle muttered still flustered about the kiss.
"Lily staying at your house?" Luke asked as he took a bite of his pancake.
"Uh, um, yes" Danielle said sounding unsure, Luke just smiled and finished his breakfast, but Calum was not having it.
"Your parents will be there, right?" Calum asked as he placed his mug down looking at Danielle almost in a scolding manner.
"Um, y-yes?" Danielle said sounding like a question almost. But it was, her parents had a business party that night and Danielle and Lily wanted to be alone and maybe you know, do their thing.
"You're not lying aren't you?" Calum said as he leaned towards her literally talking into her face.
"N-no" Danielle stuttered as Lily sighed annoyed with her overly protective dad.
"Dad, I'm almost 17, don't you think you're over exaggerating?" Lily said looking at Luke to back her up as Calum looked at her with a unreadable expression.
"Y-Yeah, Cal, stop asking so much, Danielle is a good girl. . ." Luke said understanding and placing his hand on Calum's thigh and squeezing it a bit, for reassurance.
"Plus, I think we need some time alone, don't you think?" Luke whispered in Calum's ear and biting his lip. Calum looked at him and cleared his throat.
"You're right, um y-you can stay" Calum said a bit too fast as Lily and Danielle were confused at the sudden change.
"Anyways. . . Thank you!" Lily said hugging Calum as he just shook his head ans smiled, because anything for his babygirl.
"Well, we better get going" Luke said standing up putting the dirty dishes in the sink.
"Yeah, the game starts soon" Danielle said as she took her bag and Lily's bag as well.
"Dan, you don't have to" Lily said taking her bag off Danielle's hands.
"It's fine, baby" She said placing a small kiss on her cheek, as Lily was now blushing.
Luke and Calum stayed back looking at the scene and they smiled fondly.
"Get a room" Calum joked as Danielle blushed and Lily rolled her eyes, again.
"C'mon let's go" Calum said as him and Danielle were on the way to their car, and Lily and Luke staye back.
"Thank you, Lu" Lily said suddenly hugging Luke and Luke's heart grew and turned into mush.
"No need, Lilypad" Luke said hugging her back as she sighed and smiled too.
"I love you, Papa" Lily whispered and Luke couldn't take in the words.
"I love you too, Lilypad" Lily pulled away as she was smiled and kissed Luke in the cheek and running towards the car.
They drove to the game and the ride was filled with Lily giving Calum and Luke hints on the songs next to play.
Once they arrived and Lily and Danielle stretched and did a few warm ups, the game started and Calum was screaming and yelling Lily's name cheering her on as she made a few goals.
Luke just sat there looking at Calum, looking at how his smile would spread and would cheer his not so little baby. And he thought of all the things that had happened these past years. He moved in with Calum and gave his pent house to Joy, filed a restraining order against June (Calum helped), He was Lily's Papa, and most importantly he married Calum.
He married the soccer mom, and he was perfectly fine with that.
