Chapter 17: Holy Crap Is Underestimated
____
HOLY CRAP. HOLY MOTHER
freaking crap. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Was this right? Was this wrong? I don't know.
"You're kidding." I squint at Thorne while trying not to laugh. I couldn't understand it. He just shook his head at me laughing. "I don't know, it just felt good. Like they way they rubbed and massaged, and then the fishies--"
I just burst out in laughter, cutting him right off. "I just--" Laugh. "--can't believe that --" Laugh. "-- you got a pedicure!" By this point I was crying and barley any noise was coming out of my mouth as my shoulders shook violently. When I finally calmed down, I looked back up at him with my tears gaze, only to start laughing again.
"What?!" He scoffed as he raised his hands. "It was nice!" He smiled, an actually smile that reached the corner of his eyes. I could get used to that ...
"Oh I bet!" I giggled, shaking my head. "And you told em' you were doing 'serious business' HA! Only if they knew you went to the mall to get a pedicure!"
"Shut up." He mumbled, trying to hide a smile. "I'm sorry you just don't strict me as the type -- let alone the kind of man -- to go walking around a mall just to get a pedicure, only because your friend had done it to you before and you hated to admit that you liked it." I snorted while raising a cup of hot chocolate to my mouth. I didn't do coffee or tea, hot chocolate was mah thang dog.
"Well when you say it like that you make me sound weird." He shrugged while looking down at his hands. "I never said it was weird, just I thought of you more as the, well, " I shrugged while looking up, "more manly type -- but obviously I was wrong."
"Great, now I have a reputation." He said jokingly, while coming beside me. He raised an eyebrow at my hot chocolate. "I like it." I mumbled. "Please tell me you didn't do anything else, like I don't know, wear girls underwear or something." I said looking at him from the corner of my eye to find him staring at me, horrified.
"Noooo!" I said feeling my mouth drop. "You didn't!" I said laughing again.
"I-I ... It-it was a ... Erm--"
"Oh yeah -- he did alright. I got pictures somewhere." Leo came in the kitchen where we were talking. "Pictures?!" I squealed which made Leo's smile grow and Thorne wince as he muttered something about how the day couldn't get any worse.
"Jesus Christ! Shut up!" I heard Cecil yell. He was still in bed I guessed. Me and Leo looked at each other while giggling at each other. "You gotta show me the pictures."
"Leo I swear to god, if you even show her, I will rip your arms off and shove up your butt."
"That just makes me want to do it more. " Leo says sarcastically, which causes me to try to supress a laugh.
"Oh you useless butt cheek! I'm going to kill you!"
I just sat back, drinking my hot chocolate, laughing watching the two of them running around like a little kids. I just about died when Leo stubbed his toe on a table causing him to fall and Thorne face planting over him. Today was going to be a good day. I smiled to myself happily. Today was going to be a very good day.
If I only knew how wrong I was.
----
The day was pretty normal I suppose you could say. Both Cecil and Thorne had to run some errands, which left me alone with Leo, which I didn't mind really. I actually almost forgot that I was basically kidnapped and now my adoptive mother was after me. Like I said -- pretty normal. I was sitting on a giant leather couch -- that was quite comfortable -- and just flipping through the channels on the TV. There wasn't anything on, which just caused me to sign, blowing a hair out of my face. "Yay.." I said sarcastically to myself, while rolling my eyes.
I went into the kitchen, hoping to find Leo, but I was given no luck. Again I signed. I just made myself some toast which some chef insisted he make for me -- let's just say I won. I scoffed as I remembered the expression he had given me.
"Leo where are you? Aren't you suppose to entertain the guest, not ditch 'em?"
I looked around, waiting for an answer, but nothing came. I decided this called for some serious investigation, which was really just my nosy side. Like c'mon, I was trapped in a gigantic house that I had no idea what secrets it hid. I was curious, dammit.
I walked back out into the main hall, well more like a giant lobby, and made my way over to a hallway I hadn't noticed before. I looked down it, still munching on my toast. I bet the servants wouldn't be to pleased with the crumbs I was leaving behind me, but they can go stick up their arses. I made my way down the hall with curiosity getting the best of me. I basically opened every door and snooped around each and every room, but they all consisted mainly fancy furniture and family photos or artifacts.
I wasn't to sure on where I was going, but when I entered a room, my eyes immediately went straight to a desk with papers stacked on it with a computer sitting on the wood. I smiled like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, as I began to tip toe towards the desk. Why? I don't know, I was just weird like that. When I finally reached it, my eyes roamed the stacks and stacks of papers piled neatly. I swear if this was my desk it would be a disaster. I pulled the first few papers off the top and let my curiosity take control.
Mostly the papers consistent nothing more then bills and banking material and I felt like I was back in school. I signed and turned in the chair, but stopped suddenly. I turned back to what caught my eye.
"Yes." I whispered really loudly. I jumped off the chair and grabbed the sticky notes. I smiled to myself at victory and grabbed a sharpie marker and began to scribble away. I was just drawing whatever came to my mind -- which at this point was basically anything. I decided to place them all around the office while laughing like a little kid. I mentally high fives myself for being awesome. While I was sucked into my drawings, I barley even noticed what exactly I was drawing till it was done.
"Holy crap..." I said in astonishment. I had never been a great artist. I just doodled. But on the pieces of paper, they aligned together and formed a lion's face staring deep into my eyes. Every detail was there the shading, the fur -- everything. I brushed my fingers across the pieces of paper, still taking it in.
"Holy cra--"
Before I could finish my sentence, a loud roar erupted from outside and my eyes immediately shot up at the sound. I felt shivers run down my back as it sounded so close. Me, being the stupid person I am, decided to go and find the source of the noise. I turned around to find nothing there, but then a scream echoed through the halls and I immediately started to run towards it, fearing someone was in danger. When I entered the main hall, I didn't know which way to go until another screamed broke through-- leading me further into the house. I made my way to the sound, which happened to be behind a closed door, and cautiously walked towards it. I grabbed a vase on my way over just in case. I know not the best weapon but it was gonna have to do. Another scream happened which caused me to jump. The person behind the door must've been through a lot of pain. When I was close enough to the door, I turned the nob as quietly as I could, not wanting the intruder to know I was there. When opened the door wide enough for me to poke my head through, what I saw shocked me.
There, lying on the floor, was Leo he was completely naked but that's not what shocked me. There was blood everywhere. I could take my eyes off it. As Leo winced again, I gasped, which caused him to look up at me with pain.
"Kiara, " he said in a raspy weak voice, "help me." I was frozen in spot. I could think of anything to say, I couldn't even move.
Holy crap.
