Chapter 2: Party Animal
~~~~
Kiara's POV
AS I WALKED down the street, the lights shined off of my caramel skin, giving it a sort of glow like I was a goddess. It just made me smile brighter. Signing happily at my success of getting out of the house, I made my way to Ryan's as he agreed on picking me up and taking there. Before I even had the chance of knocking, his front door swung open with him smiling down at me, even though I wasn't that short compared to him.
"Ready?" I asked but soon regretted my stupidness.
"Hell yeah!" He yelled, causing me to giggle. Ryan was one of those people who could be as loud as they want no matter where they were.
As we both quickly made it down his porch steps after saying good bye to his mum, she was way more fun than Julie, with made it too his sleek black SUV.
Out of all the house I had lived in with Julie, this neighbourhood along with the property, was the ultimate best. With the beach as a backyard and insanely beautiful interior of the house, it was nothing like Ryan's. His house was gorgeous! The only thing I didn't understand about ares was how we could still pay for it.
"Kay? Are you even listening?" Ryan asked breaking me from my thoughts.
"Huh?" I broke my glance away from the car widow as we spend down the road.
" I asked what your doing for your birthday, stupid."
" I'm not stupid!" I defended myself. He seemed quite happy with himself just over a silly word.
"Yes you are." We laughed together. As we laughed, we seemed to have pulled into the house and the party was already happening.
"You know, I never really put much thought to my birthday." I said bringing the subject back.
"Well don't. I'll take care of it all." He winked at me. It might've worked if I didn't know him. And that's when a questioned popped in my head.
"Hey, where's that fake blonde girl. Amanda? Ally? Allison?" I asked. I really didn't even notice her not being here and seemed like he didn't either.
Looking back in his car as if the girl was siting there, he just shrugged and said he didn't really care for her anyway. As we both entered the house, drunk people were already falling over and making out with anyone who was horny. Laughing, me and Ryan passed by them and picking up a couple drinks of our own.
----
AS THE MUSIC BLASTED, I
still had barley drank any of my drink. I really only had three sips. As i made my way out of the sweaty hot bodies jumping up and down, I found myself going to the stairs where people had already passed out.
Figures. I smirked, remembering how Julie had found me passed out and kissing a random guy the last time I snuck out.
As I made my way to the too of the stairs, I nearly bumped into a guy and fell right back down the stairs before his arm latched out to catch me.
"Whoa! I, I'm really sorry!" I apologized as he placed me beside him. That's when I got a good look at him. He was handsome, big time, and his over muscular body was very hard to take my eyes off, but his eyes are what caught my attention. They were almost as black as the night.
"Haha no need to be." He laughed with an unusual accent. As I tried to figure it out he stuck out his hand and introduced himself.
"I'm Cecil, I'm new around here." He laughed again making me smile.
"I'm Kiara." I took his hand and shook it. Weird way to introduce yourself at a party, I thought.
"So how'd you get here?" He asked taking an interest in me.
"My friend drove me here." I pointed behind me. He laughed and we continued talking. I soon realized he didn't have a drink or anything.
"You want me to get you a drink?"
"Nah, I don't drink." He waved it off.
" Well I guess your at the wrong party," I joked, but he didn't seem to think it was funny.
Nice Kiara, you just dug yourself a hole away from a cute guy, my conscious picked at me. Mentally slapping my forehead, I stared back at Cecil who was staring at me with the same interest as before.
"Is something wrong?"
"Uh, no. " I lied. At first I didn't realize it, but there was a burning starting throughout my body.
It's probably just the alcohol, I told myself. Before I could say anything else, Ryan was running up the stairs calling my name but not very loudly.
"Oh god! There you are! I've been looking all over!" Ryan panted out of breath as he reached the top step of the stairs. Before I could say anything --again-- he glanced up at Cecil.
" Who's the weirdo?"
Wacking him on his chest, I introduced them.
"This is Cecil, and Cecil this is Ryan." I smiled, but Ryan was still staring at Cecil like he was gonna kill him. I felt Cecil shift uncomfortably beside me.
Quickly switching the subject before the two started fighting, I asked Ryan why he was here. "Oh yeah, um, Julie's here. And we gotta leave now." He said but never broke his glare at Cecil.
As panic set in, I quickly grabbed Ryan's arm while saying goodbye to Cecil, who said he'd hope to see me again. As we made our way through the crowd, looking out for Julie, we quickly made an exit and thankfully got to Ryan's car as we spend down the road just like before.
"Weren't you drinking?" I asked Ryan.
"Meh. Some." He said as he waved my off.
"RYAN! Why are you driving?! What if you get pulled over but the cops or something!?" I yelled at him like his mother, he seemed to notice this too as he laughed.
"You aren't my mommy." He taunted. He was impossible.
" And you say I'm the stupid one." I muttered as I let my body fall back in the seat.
"Oh, you are." And he was back to his normal self.
"Shut up and drive."
"I like that song. "
"Ryan..." I growled but it just made him laugh harder.
